What makes an Ironworker?🏗️

Today we are highlighting one of our incredible members, Larry, a retired Ironworker who worked on several amazing projects throughout his career including the San Francisco Bay Bridge and the Astoria Bridge of the 1960's, which he recalls fondly.

As a lifelong Ironworker and member of the CU, Larry shares his savings advice to young Ironworkers: "Open up an account at Ironworkers Credit Union and put in $100/month. Never have $0 in savings and save every dime."

Larry and his family members have taken advantage of many opportunities and services provided by the credit union. He says, "They have helped my family tremendously- helped my kids get their first car and cash for college. Teri is an incredible, wonderful human being. The credit union is about building relationships, and we are so thankful!"

Brother Ironworker in need.

Some of you know John Campbell and many do not, but those who know him, know he is an ironworkers ironworker. Don't tell him it can't be done, he will prove you wrong. He has a story for every occasion on jobs he been on.

He has worked all over the country and as he has said to me and many other, "He is the only ironworker that has 90 years in 45 on the job and 45 in the tavern!" Well those "90" years do take a toll and he has had one thing after another from Prostate Cancer, ICU for COVID while in Kansas City, Lung Cancer, Stroke, and various other things including the the passing of his youngest daughter would should never happen to anyone. We all know that insurance takes care of most but not all and having one thing after another for the last 3 years takes a toll and trying to keep your head above water.

If you are able to help out a brother iron worker, he and his family would be so very appreciative of it. Anything will help. Below is an attachment with a link.
