ATTENTION: This is the LAST WEEK for voting in the FIRST ROUND of the 2022 Georgia Country Awards. At NOON next Wednesday, July 13th, voting will stop. Then we will tabulate the votes from the fans, then add those vote numbers to the points given to each act from the Georgia Country Awards panel. This will determine who will move on to the semi final round. Only 12 acts (or venue or radio stations) will move on to the next round. Voting for the Semi Finals will start Wednesday, July 20th at noon. Everyone then can vote again the semi finals. This too will last 6 weeks ending on Aug 31st. Douglas should be your destination for a roadtrip weekend. Starting on Thursday, September 30th the Martin Centre will kick off the weekend events with the Easton Corbin concert (tickets available at https://lnkd.in/d-Cq2AZn ). Then the big event will begin on Friday with the 2nd Annual Gopher Tortoise Festival kicking off at Central Square in Douglas. We'll have local and regional arts & crafts vendors with handmade goods, food vendors, axe throwing, zip lines and tons of things to do. Our local merchants will also be offering discounts and specials for a day full of fun and shopping. Friday night we'll have a great Eagle's cover band "Dark Desert Highway" performing on the lawn, so bring your blankets and chairs...and dancing shoes. Saturday the festival will run all day with live local and regional music then the Allman Betts Band will close it out at The Martin Centre Saturday night. The festival will be held at a spacious outdoor venue with lots of free music at Central Square, The Martin Centre is indoors and requires ticket purchase.
