China plans a pilot program to implement its digital currency in the real world by 2020. This would support recent speculation that China is about to become the first major economy to issue sovereign digital money. This is one of those news that shows that some countries are in the immediate future and others are light years away.

The Deutsche Börse (German Stock Exchange) in cooperation with the telecoms company Swisscom as well as Falcon Private Bank Ltd., Vontobel, and Zürcher Kantonalbank have succeeded in jointly settling securities transactions with tokenized shares via the DLT protocols of Hyperledger Fabric and R3's Corda.

DLT transaction paves the way for the partners to tokenize securities and offer settlement of using distributed ledger technology (DLT) protocols.

-Q3’19 funding topped $8.9B, a quarterly record when adjusting for Ant Financials’ $14B in Q2’18: Through Q3’19, fintech has raised $24.6B, already surpassing 2017’s annual total.
-Southeast Asia fintech topped new annual highs: Southeast Asia set a new annual record with $701M raised across 87 deals through Q3’19.
-India and China continued to do battle over the title of Asia’s top fintech hub in Q3’19: China saw deals surge to 55 in the quarter, reclaiming the lead from India, which saw 33 deals.
-There are 58 VC-backed fintech unicorns worth a combined $213.5B: Q3’19 saw 6 new fintech unicorn births.

"Blockchain, Security Token Offerings and tokenization are not needed"

We can laugh at ourselves from 1995 all we want, but human nature doesn't change that fast. The "radio" and a "tape recorder" are now jokes compared to what the internet has created and people born post-2000 don't even know what they are. Blockchain technology, (alongside nanotechnology, AI, and 3D printing) also faces similar skepticism caked in security and a love of old ways. In the face of innovation, this is always the last attitude before radical disruption.

Saudi Aramco set a price for its IPO. The state-owned oil giant said it plans to sell a 1.5% stake for up to $25.6 billion next month. That would value the group at around $1.7 trillion, provided it finds enough buyers for the Riyadh-listed shares. Saudi officials originally hoped to raise $100 billion at a $2 trillion valuation.
