Congratulations Carolyn on a great launch party, and thanks to OC Publishing for organizing this! Fun fact: Somewhat Grumpy Press is mentioned in Traitors, Cannibals, Highlanders, and Vikings (our first mention in fiction), for organizing a book launch party - something we'd never done. Now we know how to do it!

Tomorrow at the Halifax Public Libraries main library on Spring Garden Rd., in the BMO Community Room (2nd floor), we're celebrating the launch of Carolyn J. Nicholson's two new novels - The Last Witch on Skye (OC Publishing - editing by Marianne Ward, and illustrations by E.M. Gales, book design by David W. Edelstein!); and Traitors, Cannibals, Highlanders, & Vikings (Somewhat Grumpy Press). I'm in awe of her for juggling both projects simultaneously and happy to be collaborating with Tim Covell at Somewhat Grumpy on this dual launch party! Hope to see you there.

Recalling Rose Blanche is coming early next year! Rose Blanche is a Newfoundland village, founded in the 1700s. George Rose grew up there in the 1930s and 1940s, and in this memoir he paints a vivid picture of life in the outports at that time. “Growing up in Rose Blanche was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anywhere else I’ve seen or read about.”

This weekend! Thanks to OC Publishing for organizing!

I hope all my fellow Canadians had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I actually took some time off and hung out with family so it was three days of full-on eating...turkey and lobster! I am a happy camper. Now, it's back to work!! Don't forget, this Sunday is the launch celebration for Carolyn J. Nicholson's two books - The Last Witch on Skye (OC Publishing), and Traitors, Cannibals, Highlanders & Vikings (Somewhat Grumpy Press). Carolyn has just returned from Scotland so will be bursting with stories to share! I hope you can join us and support Carolyn from 2-4 pm at the Halifax Main Library on Spring Garden Rd. in the BMO room. There will be refreshments, author Q&A and readings, and books will be available for purchase and signing.
