The Candid Kiwi Podcast Kia Ora and welcome to my podcast. I'm a 'kiwi' living in the USA and have created a podcast to connect us across the globe. This is my goal. Who they are. Enjoy.
(1)

Everyone has a story to tell, and through stories we find human connection. Real stories, real connections. My name is Melissa, and I have a story. I've always been fascinated with others stories. The journey they've taken to get where they are. Through stories we find connection, and this is what I want for my podcast. I want to provide you with my story, as well as others. I want you to feel lif

ted, connected, and walk away with a little more understanding of the human race and who each of us are. I will slowly unpack my story to you, and have guests on my podcast who are willing to share their story. I've always loved conversation. I'm told that I'm able to make people feel at ease--allowing them to tell me their story, without judgment. It's because I'm always so curious about who people really are. I wanted to be a radio host as a child, but life moved forward and I went other places. I'm now at a stage in my life where I've listened to myself and asked myself what I really want. This podcast is what I really want. I feel a strong urge to do this for myself and for others and hope you enjoy this adventure with me as I help connect us--one story at a time. Thanks for joining me and thanks for having a story. Maybe one day we can listen to your story, and make connections with who you are, and where your journey has taken you.

Welcome to episode forty.
This is Topher.
He’s a husband, father and Battalion Chief in Davis County Utah.
Topher thought he wanted to be a dentist but quickly realized that wasn’t for him.
He tells his story of how he became a firefighter and why.
He walks us through starting as a sub one day a month as a firefighter, all the way up to where he is today.
I had no idea how it all worked so appreciated this story.
I’m so grateful that there’s people like Topher out there who can not only fight fires, but save lives.
I couldn’t do it. Come and listen to Topher.
You’ll realize why were such good friends.

Kia Ora.
Welcome to episode thirty six.
This is Ashlee.
Ashlee was a mother of five who thought she was living her dream with her husband and children.
One night, however, detectives came to her door and everything changed. Ashlee’s husband had been shot and killed at her local Walgreens.
Ashlee walks us through that chaotic night and her life moving forward since then.
The murder trail, her blog which has been published into books, her new found love and marriage, two more children, how she healed and more.
She’s been on Dateline NBC Dr. Phil and more.
Ashlee has a website where she coaches and helps those who have gone through trauma.
Her website and social media are on here and my blog.
I learned a lot from sitting and listening to Ashlee and I hope you will too.
