Abbynormal productions is proud to announce the undertaking of a new play written by Dr. Dominick Grundy. This will be recorded production for a psychiatric conference in July of this year. We will be holding open auditions and if you are chosen there will be a stipend for the part. The play is called, What The Day Brings. It is about the rivalry of the two founders of group therapy. An Englishman named Wilfred Bion, And a German Jew named S.H. Foulkes. These two men had a great deal in common, they were both soldiers in the first world war, They were pioneers in this particular branch of therapy, and they even worked at the same hospital at the same time. Despite their many similarities they despised each other, and yet never actually interacted with one another. They are brought together in the afterlife by three Greek gods, Hermes, Cleo and Mnemosyne. They are made to relive and confront parts of their lives that brought them into conflict and understand their own faults.

To audition please send in a 1:30 minute recording of a dramatic monologue of your choosing. State your name and the part that you would like to audition for. Also put down any and all conflicts from now until the end of July. Send a recording in an email to [email protected]. We will have callbacks on this Sunday, at 1:30 p.m.. If you are selected, you’ll be sent scenes from the script. Callbacks will be held over zoom. Rehearsal times and a physical location for the production are still being worked out. The fantastic cast and crew of The Taming of The Shrew. Directed by Killarney Traynor. Our latest foray Into the Plays of Shakespeare. We are very pleased with how this whole show and process came together. We would also like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Director of this project, Killarney Traynor and that of her Assistant Director, Kyle W Porter. Abbynormal Productions is proud to present That Slippery Slope. A original work, Written by Dominick Grundy Ph.D. a practicing member of the psychiatric community. Our story follows the psychiatric professional Dr. P and his struggles in attending to the psychological needs of his patient Ms. Z. As these two travel on a journey of self discovery they begin to fall down the titular slippery slope. Meaning that both patient and doctor begin to form an attachment to each other that leads to romantic and physical complications. Unseen by the the both of them, they are being observed in a case study, run by the chairperson of a psychiatric conference. Aiding the chairperson in this case study are two psychiatric doctors, who in reality are true forces of nature, Dr. Aphrodite, and her sister Dr. Athena. Will Dr. P and Ms. Z over come there baser instincts and let logic and reason rule the day, or give in to love and let their hearts guide their actions? It’s time to meet the cast and crew of Abbynormal’s newest production, That Slippery Slope. In the role of our chief quack, Dr. P we have the tremendously talented Isaac Conner. Playing the part of the brave and adventurous Ms. Z, We are grateful to have a with us the versatile Diana Kennedy. In the role of the slightly Freudian looking chairperson, we have the indomitable Cari Keebaugh. Portraying the Olympian goddess Dr. Aphrodite, we are grateful to have the always hilarious Caroline Hawthorne. And last but certainly not least in the role of the goddess of wisdom Dr. Athena, We have the ever humble but infinitely talented Lillian Kelly. Taking care of audio and tech we have our Co-founder and Co-artistic Director, Jeremiah O’Sullivan. And as Director the barely passable Francis Charles Sheehan. Good morning you wonderful nerds. Just a message from Francis your friendly neighborhood Co-director. In February I have the opportunity to direct a play written by a psychologist, for an audience of psychologists, at a psychological conference. I have been given full creative control, but before I do auditions, I would like to have a read through. So I thought to myself where can I find people crazy enough to sacrifice a couple of hours of their lives to read this play with me? And then it hit me, why Abbynormal Normal of course. There are five parts, One man, three women and one part that could be cast either way. So the first five people to respond to this message, and direct message me, get the parts for the readthrough. This does not however guarantee that you will be selected for the play, but think of this is brownie points if you do. I hope to hear from all of you, and if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please write them down in the comments below. Also, I would like to have the readthrough by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. So the sooner you respond, the sooner we can get this started.  I hope to hear from you real soon.

From the brilliant and frankly twisted minds that decided to muck up classic horror stories like Jekyll and Hyde and that vampire one Hollywood can't get right, comes a Yuletide adventure that would make Ebeneezer Scrooge Cringe (but it a good way - probably). Comes the story of London's most disgruntle employees, Kilsyth and Tracey, as they go on an adventure to discover the spirit of Christmas. Joining them on their adventure will be many faces seen before from Dracula and Jekyll & Hyde. Hijinks and high spirits will abound in this new Christmas story. Join us at 8 PM for this festive holiday treat.

Good evening one and all. As it stands we have finalized a new date for our World Premiere of Night at the Synagogue. Saturday, August 22 at 8 PM. We are so grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, they have all been understanding and accommodating. But most importantly, they want to see the fruits of their labor brought to life in the only way that it can be, through live performance. We look forward to this Saturday and hope that you tune in for this side splitting new comedy.
