London Couple Sentenced for Gym Locker Credit Card Theft Scheme
A London couple, Ashley Singh, 39, and Sophie Bruyne, 20, have been sentenced for stealing £250,000 from gym-goers' lockers. The duo targeted 18 individuals over a year, maxing out stolen credit cards on high-end items like tech and designer goods.
The Lewisham-based team traced the couple through phones, cars, and CCTV, leading to their arrest at Gatwick Airport last year with 2,000 Euros of designer goods. DC Luis Da Silva from the Metropolitan Police urged other victims to come forward.
The judge labeled the pair's actions a "wicked conspiracy," impacting 18 people. The police are now working to forfeit the couple's proceeds to compensate victims from London and beyond, totaling 18 fraud reports.
