Guysss 🥺🥺 look at how cute he is!!!

This commission is entitled "If you please– draw me a sheep". This commission has such a fun story...

This was done for my incredible social media manager, Austen at .advice.marketing, and she (cheekily) said, "If you please, draw me a sheep" without any further request or instruction.

Only after the piece was completed did she read me the section in Antoine de Saint Exupery's "the Little Prince", and it all made sense! 🐑

Nevertheless I had a great time with this piece and am happy to accept him into my collection 😇😇

This is more of an affirmation than anything. Those of you who know me know that I've been struggling with anxiety for a long time.

Choosing to go into art as a career (and *freelancing* at that!) is a decision I could never have done without the loving support of those close to me. This last year has been tough, and there have been highs and some really, really lows 😮‍💨

But I've found a strategy and schedule that works, and I have a team of wonderful people around me to keep me grounded 😊 So if this quote has any truth to it, I am a success, although the "failures" are becoming fewer and farther between 🍄🍄

GUYS... when I tell you I did the math and this piece took me over FORTY HOURS 😳🤯

Don't get me wrong! I love this piece so much (especially now that I've had some time away from it 😜) and I had no idea I would grow this fond of it when I finished it in May 🍄🌺

Every painting produces new challenges for me, and I am so grateful for each new problem my paintings force me to solve, because it helps me grow.

I've been trying to figure out how to present the inspiration/references for "V'hineh" 🍂🌱🌼 They're just so gorgeous and I love them so much!

When this commission came in, I definitely didn't expect to love doing mosaics so much. Well... I say "love" a bit loosely 🥲😂 I don't love them when I've spent 40+ hours on a painting, but... when it's all over and I've had a few nights of good old sleep... I love them endlessly 😭

Genesis 8:11 😌😌😌 I titled this piece "והנה" (v'hineh) because of how casually we say this phrase in Hebrew, yet in a Biblical context it feels so reverent. We hand something to a family member, saying "𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘩, take", but we don't often think of how Jesus sacrificed himself for us so lovingly. "𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘩, take and accept my sacrifice."

This piece, entitled "והנה" (v'hineh), was an entirely new challenge for me, but it's opened up a whole new world for my creative identity ✨

I've never attempted something this time-consuming and detailed, but holy cow 🐮, I'm never going back!!

I'm just ✨obsessed✨ with this iconic white-spotted red mushroom 🍄

I'm especially fascinated with this toadstool’s rich history of lore and mythology across various cultures. It's easy to imagine the stories in which this mushroom holds magical properties are true… 😊
