All residents are warned to be on the lookout for a sinister, spirit stealing psychopath that could be headed to MInden with the goal of replacing Christmas cheer with holiday horror.
At a hastily called news conference Monday, a worried Minden Mayor Nick Cox and anxious Chief of Police Jared McIver jointly released information obtained by crack surveillance teams indicating a “…giant green, hairy creature accompanied by a horned canine accomplice is heading our way…” in a nefarious scheme to steal the Christmas spirit.”
Although the creature has the capability to make adults cringe and children cower, the two city officials said it does not have the ability to physically harm humans. Instead, the hairy holiday-hating hooligan preys on the emotions of those who celebrate this joyous season by stealing gifts and leaving tears in his wake.
Please watch for Tuesday’s edition of the Webster Parish Journal for information from the news conference, complete with photos of the suspect. Until that time, watch for strange lights in the sky or unfamiliar objects which may be capable of transporting a suspicious green thing. Spirits may depend on an observant populace.
A special 24-hour Green Thing Hotline has been set up for information that could lead to the apprehension of the creature. Police await your call at 318-510-4701.
Food, fun and lots of festivities until 11 p.m. Saturday on Pearl Street in downtown Minden. Come join the fun.

Well, this Friday it’s a great night to be a Warrior as well.
