The spiders were busy last night after the rain. Woke to strings of web all around the plants on the deck. I love the droplets of rain sitting on the flowers.

I love this so much! The robins have picked their nesting to be located on the rain downspout by our backyard deck this year. I hope it will withstand the winds. They have been busy collecting materials to build this nest. They just stated this morning and have made so much progress.

I couldn't miss an opportunity to take pictures with these Winter blooms! They're beautiful!

I've always wanted a mailbox garden and wasn't sure what to grow. I knew I wanted a climber and a mix of annuals and perennials. I started the nasturtiums and morning glories from seeds then transplanted them to the mailbox garden. I added the purple cone flowers, autumn Joy, and Asian canna lilies. They are flourishing well. I didn't expect the nasturtiums to grow this big. The morning glory started to climb but have not bloomed yet.

We stopped in Basalt, CO for the fathers to do some fishing. This little fruit garden was next to the river. There were so many yummy fruits.

I planted this climbing rose two summers ago and it finally bloom this year. The flowers are so simple and pretty. They remind me of a southern magnolia flower.

The oakleaf hydrangea has started blooming! I've been looking for one in my local garden centers for awhile. They're hard to find locally and pricey if there are any. My sister-in-law bought a house last year and didn't care for the oakleaf hydrangea. I gladly transplanted it this spring to my garden. It is blooming beautifully and loving its new home.

This year marks 20 years since we've had these money trees. They were the first plants that started my journey of collecting live plants. They were given to my husband and I as a house warming gift from my our late Nephew Vang (Moo) Khang and Nyab. They will always be a special plant close to our hearts. I love their big trunks! Today they stand 6 feet tall.

I planted these white peonies the first summer after we moved into our home. They have always been white with pink outer petals and a speck of pink on the center. I cannot believe what a rare occurrence to see a completely pink peony blooming today! Their fragrance is delightful and a pleasure to sniff them to my heart's content.

I have a large clump of banana plants and divided them into three separate clumps. I have been generous with watering them daily. With that all watering did not compare to just one hour of rain yesterday. These two pups popped up today. The wonder of rain is amazing.

One other plant I'm looking forward to see bloom is the rain flowers (Zephyranthes). This plant will not bloom regardless how much I water. Within a day or two of rain they send up flower stalks like crazy. I will do a follow up post when they start sending the flower stalks and bloom.

I hung this decorative bird house on the maple tree just to get a feel where I would want it permanently. It appears the sparrows made it their home already. It will have to stay until they are done nesting.
