The OG! The reason I started to get hooked on Pokémon!
On this day in 1998, twenty-four years ago, Pokémon Red & Blue were first released in the US, bringing the franchise to the west. These games were essentially new games running off of the engine of Japanese Pokémon Blue, with the encounter data of Red & Green. Throughout them, you travelled through Kanto, battling gyms, stopping Team Rocket and capturing the 151 Pokémon. Did you get these games? What is your favourite Pokémon from them?
