The Kurit-Lagting Art Collective and the Sorsogon Initiatives for Culture and Arts Development would like to announce an Open Call for participants for a free Regional Curatorial Workshop for Bicolano curators to be held on the 3rd week of May 2023 via Zoom platform. In this workshop, participants will learn about the different approaches on how to develop a concept for a community exhibition or a curatorial project, and the challenges of organizing exhibitions, public programs, and artist-led initiatives.

Selected participants will be required to send a concept note/ curatorial proposal.

Robert Marticio, who is a member of the Kurit-Lagting Art Collective and the Concerned Artists of the Philippines, said, during the awarding ceremonies, that he always wanted to make a film that would give honor to women who are standing up for their rights, challenging stereotypes, breaking barriers, and serving as pioneers of change.

His short film entitled “Kan Sarong Banggi Ki Nana Nita” represented women as everyday heroes with their unwavering love to their families and society.

Cinema Rehiyon’s Taboan screening partners, Rhymes of PEG and SabaDugtungan together with Kurit-Lagting Art Collective and Rm. 74, will be holding a free film screening on March 6, 2022 at 2pm. Dubbed as “Makatang Sinehan” (Poetic Cinema), this screening will showcase (3) selected films namely: An Eidolon Named Night, Pasilong and Hija.
