It features a blend of technical skill, craftsmanship, and art- everything from proving impossible physics demonstrations to constructing a livable camper in just a few weeks, to high power rocketry and organic chemistry. Xyla is an avid supporter of women in STEM initiatives, including working with AAAS as an IF/THEN ambassador, where a full size statue of Xyla was exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum during women's history month. Prior to YouTube, she was the founder and executive director of the Beauty and the Bolt 501c3 nonprofit organization, whose program has taught over 13,000 kids to use their first powertool and reached over 100,000 students in classrooms. When she left the organization, Reinvented Magazine took over all of Beauty and the Bolt’s programming. Her college invention turned tech startup, Parihug, was 178% funded on Kickstarter. As a teenage founder and CEO she raised over $200k in preseed VC funding, and has been featured in the New York Times, The Verge, Mashable, Google Made with Code, and more. Xyla has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in General Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics and Creative Technology with a minor in Studio Art from Case Western Reserve University. She is a AAAS IF/THEN ambassador, and has been named Cleveland’s Most Interesting People 2017, Crain’s Notable Women in Technology and 20 in their 20s, and was the featured engineer in Microsoft’s international Surface Laptop ad campaign. She was crowned Miss Greater Cleveland 2018 in the Miss America program. She lives in Los Angeles where she is the proud owner and pilot of a 1946 Cessna 140 that she flies in her free time. She also loves backpacking or camping in her homebuilt teardrop, climbing large mountains, and salsa dancing.

Spent the day volunteering with the . If you are able, please please consider donating, they are an impressively efficient machine but stretched thin and the number of unhoused and evacuated people in LA who need food keeps rising. Luckily it looks like most of their volunteer slots now have waitlists because LA is the most giving beautiful city ❤️

If you don’t need to evacuate, please consider leaving local airbnbs and hotels available for those who do. Leave town to stay with friends instead 💕

If you’re looking for an amazing charity to donate some last minute 💸💸 to before the new year, look no further than ! I sit on the board of this amazing nonprofit who’s goal is support women and girls interests in STEM.

I founded the Princesses with Power Tools program many many years ago (we premiered at SXSW 2017 🥹) out of a deep frustration that engineering education felt like it was teaching that femininity and brilliance were mutually exclusive. When Reinvented took it over in 2020 our volunteer princesses had taught 5,000 kids to use a power tool for the first time. To date, they’re at 17,000 and counting- and this past year hosted their first international princess events in Latin America.

Yesterday was a perfect launch day at FAR- 3 successful launches of an H, I, then J motor on my new Miss Fire kit (link in bio for more info!). (I didn’t launch at dusk but recovered late so I could help .space film something before we lost light. Winter solstice and all)

The only downside is it was slightly too cold for a cute crop top to p**s off the misogynist as****es on the rocketry forums (crazy to think women might dress for the weather in the desert, who wouldathunk it?)

Okay, this is SO COOL, did you know that in China, every time someone buys a piece of art, they add their own chop seal to it? It’s like a personalized stamp with their name carved into it. Over time, the art can collect dozens of these seals, turning it into a visual record of everyone who’s ever owned it. Ofcourse, I decided to make one.

My spare room was always intended to be an electronics/3D Printing/streaming room and it just never happened. But!!! Big moves in 2025, starting with some EPIC @wallcontrol.
