*** THE PAIN OF LOSS ***
If we believe that birds do not feel or that birds cannot suffer, we are taking for granted a truth of very short wings and very little true reality.
Birds called "turtle dove" live as a couple until death, that is, they are monogamous. That's why we sometimes say when we see a couple of them "look at those two lovebirds!", attached and stuck as if life were in it. And it is not surprising that it seems so, because the bond of their union is such that when one of them leaves, his partner is plunged into a very intense emotional loss, which sometimes leads to deep sadness and to let himself die without further ado.
This sad image was captured by James Yule and represents the mourning and intense pain that these birds live for the loss of their vital company.

🐬 Pufferfish release a toxin when they puff out that is meant to impair the attacker, so they can safely escape. Ironically, this doesn’t work on dolphins in the same way… it actually gets them high. So they purposely inflate them and pass them around to their dolphin friends for fun.❤️

Look at the feet!

Bear's feet are known for their remarkable features. Not only are they strong and agile enough to allow the animal to climb trees and roam through rugged terrain, but they also have some unique features that help them survive in their natural habitat.

For starters, bears have large, padded paws that provide them with excellent traction on slippery surfaces. These paws also have retractable claws, which they use to dig for food and defend themselves against predators.

But perhaps the most interesting feature of a bear's feet is their flexibility. As you can see in the photo above, the toes of the baby bears are splayed outwards, giving them a wider base and better balance when climbing or exploring. This flexibility also allows bears to swim effectively, using their powerful legs and paws to paddle through the water.

So the next time you see a bear or bear cub, be sure to take a closer look at their feet! It's a small detail that reveals just how adaptable and capable these magnificent animals truly are.

A story from Kaye Fiorello from The States:
“I was driving up interstate 75 in Tennessee, and saw a trooper. A few minutes later, I see a dog in the ditch. She looked bad. I was heading to an appointment, and was torn. I decided I would go back southbound.
I turned in and the trooper was still there!
I told him about the dog. He asked where the dog was and was on his way! I followed and we found her. Still there, panting like she was fixing to die.
That trooper dumped his jug of koolaid out and fashioned a water bowl for her. Then poured a couple bottles of water. The dog was scared of him. She sniffed the water, then realized this kindness was for her! She drank that water down in minutes. And the trooper went and got her some more, plus a Little Debbie. She watched him warily the whole time. She sniffed his hand, but was still wary.
Next thing, he goes to his vehicle and gets a chair and an umbrella. Telling me he will stay here until she trusts him, so he can get her to a shelter, or take her home.
I believe his being there at the right time, was one of those little messages reminding us of the good in our world.

(Trooper Tudors went on to adopt the dog 🐾💗

“I was the flight attendant on a memorial day flight. Speaking with the passenger in the front row, I learned that the dog pictured, was Corporal Kiddy. She had just earned her retirement after 12 years with the U.S Marine.
I made an announcement to congratulate her on her career. The cabin erupted into applause, upon hearing the sound the Corporal jumped on to the nearest lap to graciously accept.” ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
