DANIEL BOMPA TURAY DONATES 50 RECHARGEABLE MEGAPHONES TO THE DR. SAMURA KAMARA CAMPAIGN!!!

US-based Sierra Leonean, Daniel Bompa Turay donates 50 rechargeable megaphones to Dr. Samura Kamara at his Wellington Street Office. According to Daniel Bompa, the donation was spurred by the need to register in huge numbers and working towards ensuring large voter turn-out in June 2023 to deliver an APC victory.

Daniel Bompa reckoned that Dr. Samura Kamara, APC leading presidential aspirant, thorough understanding of the country's socio-econmic malady, with a clear path to addressing it, has transformed him into a rallying point for the suffering masses

This donation is part of a country-wide support (from megaphones to rice and stipend for party volunteers) Daniel Bompa has been giving towards the voter registration process.

Dr. Samura Kamara thanked Daniel Bompa for believing in his candidacy and encouraged members to support the party at this crucial moment.

Lawyer Ahmed Sesay, Coordinator of APC National Elections Coordinating Team lauded
Daniel Bompa for the timely cash donation and called on party members to be vigilant in the voter registration and verification drive.

Chairman Taribo of Constituency 132 commended Daniel Bompa for the massive support which contributed hugely to the large voter registration in the constituency. Taribo noted "Bompa show we sae ein nar true Lumley man".

Daniel Bompa intimated on the phone to 'APC Alert' Sierra Leone Chapter that he is engaging other APC members in the diaspora to join 'APC Alert', a support group to mobilize resources for the party's presidential, parliamentary, and councilor candidates in next year's elections.

MINISTER MEMUNATU PRATT GETS ANGRY BECAUSE EU SAYS THE TRUTH!!!

Minister of Tourism and Culture, Memunatu Pratt was very angry when EU revealed it funded 100% of the construction of Mabang Bridge.

Minister Memunatu Pratt tweeted:

The EU is not another political party in Sierra Leone. Why are they behaving as if they are in competition with government. EU has a sacred role to support governments worldwide but when that is undermined by discrediting efforts of government.... its call for concern'.

The Minister grew mad simply because EU revealed the funding for the bridge which contradicts lies that President Bio funded the construction of the bridge.

Kadie Suma, a business woman in Moyamba, responded to the Minister:

"The EU is so frustrated with the unending lies of President Bio government that officials take Krio claaes so they can communicate directly with Sierra Leoneans".

Couple of months ago,, on 98.1, a senior official from Audit Sierra Leone noted:

"Audit SL has less trouble auditing projects supported by international partners like EU, World, etc because they have effective project monitoring systems in all projects. Our challenge is auditing government supported projects, often poorly monitored, and can't be audited. For instance, the 'COVID-19 funds".

President Bio and First Lady were just invited to grace the occasion. EU provided 100% financing and effectively monitored the construction of the bridge!!!

POLITICIANS WHO CANNOT DELIVER MUST LEAVE AND NOT USE POLICE TO INTIMIDATE AND BRUTALIZE CITIZENS!!!

The first video is NO. 10 Dawnig Street, the equivalent of State House in Sierra Leone where British citizens are raining abuses on Boris Johnson's packing. The police will only show up if protesters break that gate or else, they can spew till tomorrow. This is respect for human rights.

The second video is a female protester being tortured right inside State House for protesting against the increasing economic hardship.

Sierra Leone Police should learn from their peers. If fundamentally overhauling training modules at Police Training School is what is required to halt brutal policing and reflect international policing standards then, let's go for it.

The people have the absolute right to determine who rule them at any particular time. Because all the resources of the state (minerals, businesses, tax, humans, etc) are at the President's disposal, he is 'OBLIGATED' to make wise decisions and carve out impressive plocies in order to 'IMPROVE THE LIVES OF CITIZENS'. If you can't deliver on this, then we change you and, any successor who cannot deliver, period!!!

LETTER TO JAILED SIERRA LEONE OPPOSITION LEADER MOHAMMED KAMARAIMBA ON HIS BIRTHDAY - BE STRONG BRO!!!

Dear Kamaraimba,

It's unbelievable that for 16 months now, you continue to languish in jail for a bailable offence though you're not a flight risk, nor an endangerment to your community, with no possibility of witness tampering since the prosecution has closed its case. Be strong bro!

Incontrovertibly, the military take over in Guinea and fearing the backlash of your death prompted Justice Taylor to grant you bail on September 7th 2021. Even after meeting all bail requirements, it's an open-secret that President Bio, the First Lady, and Chief Justice have conninved to ignore the court order, refusing to grant you bail through a puppet Master Registrar, Elaine Thomas. In a recent press conference, Inspector General of Police, Sovula reckoned he has never seen such a blatant refusal of court order. Be strong bro!

Unquestionably, every Sierra Leonean knows you were the most vocal opposition critic of this corrupt-infested and criminal cabal of the Bio administration hence, your prolong detention. Corrupt politicians still fear you bro! Less than 2 years to elections, the Bio administration is worried that a Kamaraimba's liberty will mean a daily heralding of its pervasive corruption and visionless leadership which continue to unleash unprecedented economic hardship on Sierra Leoneans. Worst still, the heartless Fatima Bio, who has vouched you will never see the sun, is prepared to celebrate news of you death in grand style - ' but mortalman nor to God'. Be strong bro!

Following your deteriorating health condition and incessant incarceration, I don't know whether you'll see your next birthday but, be assured those responsible will take responsibility of their power-drunk action someday. Be strong bro!

APC BEST CHANCE: Presidential Candidate Dr. Samura Kamara, Running mate Sam Sumana!!!

Since he lost the 2018 election, Dr. Samura Kamara has taken every opportunity to identify with the masses and its been yielding political dividend. The huge crowds which cheered him on his frequent visits to mosques, churches, funerals, traders is quickly transforming him into a political pop-star. He is undoubtedly the leading aspirant for the APC flagbearership.

Another plus to Dr. Samura is his knowledge about macroeconomics. You dont need to study economics to become president but, when you become president, a major part of your job is to understand and carve impressive macroeconomic policies that enhance and accelerate economic growth. Dr. Samura Kamara knows what it means to manage economies and was in charged of Sierra Leone's economy up to the first quarter of 2014 when we registered over 20% GDP growth before Ebola struck.

APC lost 2018 due to two major factors: the Kono votes and the emergence of Yumkella. SLLP still has commanding majority in the south and east. The best possible strategy to break the eastern region vote is to target the Kono votes. Since 1962 the people of Kono has always cherished block vote. In 2012 the Kono voted for APC. In 2018, hey felt aggrieved at Sam Sumana removal, rejected Diana Konomani, Karamoh Kabba, and Logus, and voted C4C.

After all the political drama, Sam Sumana is back in the APC. He has conducted himself in a statesman fashion, the people of Kono are ready to woo him sympathy votes if he is named running mate to Samura in 2023. Samsuma is the only candidate who will make it difficult for SLPP to campaign in Kono.

KENYA JUDGES GIVE HOPE TO AN INDEPENDENT AND FEARLESS AFRICAN JUDICIARY!!!

In a 4-hour televised ruling on Thursday 13th May 2021, Kenya’s High Court ruled against the Building Bridge Initiative (BBI) constitutional amended proposal describing it as illegal and accusing President Kenyatta and the BBI Secretariat of constitutional violation and reckoned that the President can be sued for failing the leadership and integrity test. This bill has already past the National Assembly and Senate, waiting for Presidential assent.

The proposed amendment among many other things, creates office of prime minister, 70 new constituencies, and 300 new unelected members of parliament. Proponent of BBI claimed it fosters inclusive governance and defeats the winner-take-all package whilst critics slammed the bill as a scheme to reward political dynasties with bloated parliament and executive. Kenya Vice President William Ruto, a BBI critic, celebrated the ruling and praised the judges for defending the constitution and giving hope to a fearless African judiciary.

Like former Liberia President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who dumped her Vice, Joseph Boakai and voted for George Weah, President Kenyatta has made it abundantly clear he will not cast his vote in next years’ president election for Ruto, who is the leading contender to succeed him. After serving two terms, Kenyatta Presidency expire 9th August 2022 when presidential election is due.

Kenyatta and BBI secretariat are determined to take the to matter to the Appeal Court. The question before the court is ‘who has the locus standing to proposed such constitutional amended’? The High Court stated that amending such entrench clause in the constitution should start by the ordinary citizens and not the president. Will the Appeal Court and Supreme Court uphold or quash the High Court ruling?

THE DANIEL NBOMPA TURAY COLUMN!!!
I salute the JURY and Pallo's DEFENCE TEAM, NOT President Bio or the Chief Justice!
The recent non-guilty verdict reached by the 12 man-jury in Pallo's treason trial reflects the growing mass governance awareness in the average Sierra Leonean. As a people, it demonstrates our commitment to overcoming political intimidation and harassment with an indefatigable zest to hone justice in our fragile democracy. However, the rhythm of justice was contaminated when the Judge deliberately misplaced the Discretionary Previledge Rules in sentencing, by erroneously slamming the maximum penalty (I will deal with this in another piece) for two counts.

In a jury trial, the decision to convict is exclusively in the hands of the JURORS who are chosen in consultation with the accussed and/or his lawyer. The jurors are concern with 'issues of facts' while those of law are dealt with by the lawyers. The jurors listen to arguments from both the prosecution and the defence while the judge moderates. After the prosecution and defence make their closing arguments, the judge then address the jurors on the issues of law raised, including the exiting laws, etc. Jurors then retire to a room and make a unanimous decision to convict. Any disagreement among jurors results in a non-guilty verdict. If the accussed is convicted, the judge, guided by 'SENTENCING RULES' read out the appropriate sentence.

President Bio can do nothing here. He has no capacity to influence a jury-trial in this 21st century Information Age. Non-jury/Bench trials where judges convict and acquit would have naturally availed him a clear opportunity to influence the outcome by simply romancing with an integrity-drought judge...not in a jury trial! Likewise, the Chief Justice virtually had nothing to do after assigning the case to a judge whilst the Attorney General led the prosecution.

It would have very very unsafe for President Bio to attempt to bribe all the 12 jurors. It just require a rectitude personality or an acquaintance of Pallo, or an APC person who is unwilling to mortgage his or her integrity whatever is offered, to become not only a NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL SCANDAL of grave magnitude but also amounts to the crime of 'jury tampering'. SO THE PRESIDENT HANDS WERE TIED!!!

From day-one, I knew it would be difficult to prove 'mens rea' (intent) based on the facts of the case. Common sense won't justify a James Bond with ten cartriages in a pistol, Marching to heavily equipped State House to gun down the President, except he is on a su***de mission. Conspiracy is out of the subject. The prosecution spectacle captured Pallo in a Guinness World Record T-shirt for a 'one-man-conspiracy'. Dr. Abdulai Conteh, Joseph Kamara, and Andy Macauley succinctly articulated this reasonable-man test, refuted all weakling prosecution arguments, and convinced the jury that the prosecution has not proved it's case.

Yet, with all the clear weak evidences and the potential below-the-belt representation in court, the Attorney General, Dr. Pricilla filed charges for treason. She must have briefed the President and assured him of clear evidence (prima facie) to secure conviction . She knew well that the facts of the case exhibit no prima facie case, amounting in insufficient direct and circumstantial evidences to support a treason charge. Why should Priscilla lied to President Bio? Recklessly charging key opposition members with treason is not the way to impress the President that you are doing your job, AG.

Counterproductively, her incompetence is exposed. It's a complete waste of state resources, precious time and energy.This reinforced the questioning of Priscilla's competency to advise government on legal matters. For making such reckless and thoughtless decision to charged for treason, lying to the President, displaying a weak and comical representation in court , the super-hyper AG should be sacked.

Again, bravo to the probity, uprightness, and empathy exuded by the jurors.The handing down of maximum sentences for the two convicted counts signaled that the judge should have handed the maximum death penalty and not life sentence, if the jury had returned with a guilty verdict.
