Day 30 of Underrated: Tourist Trap. This film definitely contributed to my fear of dolls and mannequins. For a PG rating and absence of gore, there are still effective scares and anticipation. I love this film and it still holds up!

Favorite Horror Movie Released This Year: Malignant. What a fun experience. Goofy, over-the-top, gory, and some truly spectacularly shot scenes. It was like Argento and DePalma made a made-for-TV horror movie event in the 90s and I had NO idea how much I needed to park that close to the cliff.

Day 26 of My First Horror Movie: my first ever was A Nightmare on Elm Street which I shared on another challenge. So for this one, I am sharing the first horror movie I watched my grandpa, who was my gateway to Italian horror. He started me with a vhs of Argento’s cut of Dawn of the Dead to see if I could handle it. Then we went all in on Argento!

Most Under Appreciated Horror Movie: Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. It is a crying shame we have not seen more of Leslie Vernon. This movie is a fu***ng gem. Nathan Baesel is phenomenal. I love how the film is self aware enough to poke fun without getting too caught up in that. It is original and wildly entertaining. If you are a horror fan and have not seen this film, what are you waiting for (in my best Jennifer Love Hewitt voice)?
