Rebel Chef Apple Pie
Here's a classic apple pie recipe that's sure to delight your taste buds:

Ingredients:

For the Pie Crust:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes
- 6-8 tablespoons ice water

For the Apple Filling:
- 6-7 cups peeled, cored, and thinly sliced apples (use a mix of varieties like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Fuji)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Assembly:
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pie Crust:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the cold, cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Slowly drizzle in the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing gently with a fork until the dough just comes together.
- Divide the dough in half, form each half into a disc, wrap them in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

2. Roll Out the Pie Crust:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- On a floured surface, roll out one of the dough discs into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Carefully transfer it to a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it gently against the bottom and sides.

3. Prepare the Apple Filling:
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.

4. Assemble the Pie:
- Pour the apple filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Dot the top of the apples with the small pieces of butter.

5. Roll Out the Top Crust:
- Roll out the second dough disc into a 12-inch circle.
- Place it over the apple filling, and trim any excess dough. Seal the edges of the crust by pressing them together with your fingers or using a fork.

6. Add an Egg Wash:
- In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the top crust with the egg wash, and then sprinkle it with 1 tablespoon of sugar.

7. Bake the Pie:
- Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips and bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

8. Cool and Serve:
- Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving. It's delicious on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Enjoy your homemade apple pie, a quintessential fall dessert that's perfect for any occasion!

15 Fall Themed Ideas for your Kitchen

Bringing the essence of fall into your kitchen is like inviting nature's symphony of colors and flavors right into your home. It's about infusing warmth, comfort, and a touch of rustic charm into your culinary space. From the enticing aroma of cinnamon and cloves to the vibrant hues of pumpkins and apples, fall's influence in your kitchen can transform it into a cozy haven. Whether you're baking pumpkin pies, simmering a pot of hearty soup, or sipping on a spiced latte, the kitchen becomes a place of seasonal celebration. With fall-themed decor, ingredients, and recipes, your kitchen becomes not just a place to cook but a sanctuary of autumnal delight, where family and friends gather to savor the flavors and traditions of this enchanting season.

Here are some fall-themed ideas for your kitchen:

1. Pumpkin Spice Everything: Embrace the fall spirit by stocking up on pumpkin spice ingredients like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. You can use them in various recipes, from pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin muffins and pies.

2. Fall Centerpiece: Decorate your kitchen table with a beautiful fall centerpiece. Use autumn leaves, mini pumpkins, gourds, and candles in warm, earthy tones to create a cozy atmosphere.

3. Soup Season: Fall is the perfect time to make hearty soups and stews. Try recipes like butternut squash soup, chicken noodle soup, or chili. Serve them in rustic bowls with freshly baked bread.

4. Apple Orchard Vibes: Incorporate apples into your kitchen with apple-themed decor and recipes. Make apple crisp, apple pie, or even homemade applesauce. Display a bowl of fresh apples on your countertop.

5. Fall Baking: Spend a weekend baking fall-inspired treats like apple turnovers, cinnamon rolls, or pumpkin bread. The aroma of freshly baked goods will fill your kitchen with warmth.

6. Cider and Hot Drinks: Create a hot beverage station with a variety of teas, hot chocolate, and apple cider. Add cinnamon sticks, honey, and whipped cream as toppings.

7. Fall Colors: Change your kitchen linens and dishware to match the autumn color palette. Think warm, rich colors like deep orange, burgundy, and brown.

8. Harvest Décor: Hang decorative wreaths or garlands made from dried leaves, pinecones, and acorns. They can add a touch of fall charm to your kitchen.

9. Candlelight: Place scented candles with fall fragrances like cinnamon, vanilla, or apple pie on your kitchen counter or dining table.

10. Fall Flavors in Cooking: Experiment with fall ingredients like sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cranberries, and pomegranates in your recipes. Roast vegetables for a warm, earthy side dish or incorporate cranberry sauce into your meals.

11. Preserve the Harvest:** If you have a garden or access to fresh produce, consider preserving the fall harvest by canning or making homemade jams and preserves. It's a great way to enjoy the flavors of fall year-round.

12. Seasonal Tableware: Invest in seasonal tableware, such as plates and mugs with autumn motifs or leaf patterns. It can add a festive touch to your meals.

13. Family Recipes: Dust off family recipes for traditional fall dishes. Cooking and sharing these recipes can bring back cherished memories.

14. Autumn Spice Rack: Make sure your spice rack is well-stocked with fall spices like cinnamon, cloves, and allspice, so you're ready to infuse your dishes with warm, comforting flavors.

15. Baking with Kids: If you have children, involve them in the kitchen by baking fall-themed cookies or cupcakes together. It's a fun family activity.

Remember that fall is all about warmth, comfort, and coziness. So, embrace the season and infuse your kitchen with the inviting spirit of autumn.
