The reason I have not been active is because I have been making my transition for new whole camera setup but there’s been one thing after another that prevents me from reaching my goals. I can’t blame other except myself and I am my own roadblock. I’m getting out of this and hopefully I can turn things around. On a bright side it looks like things are letting up in terms of our Covid Era…..

It’s August, 2019. I would never have guessed before the impact of Covid; that this would’ve been my last time I went out a Pow Wow and capture photos at such a gathering like this. Fast forward, to May, 2021. The closing of a Orchard park has lead to the local Band office to fund the discovery of 215 bodies of the remains, as young as 3 yrs old. This dark history of Kamloops Residential school has finally been revealed. Which opens old wounds for the survivor. But also helps the First Nation of North America finds closure as more and more unmarked graveyard is being discovered. I know my family has been affected, and those of my ancestors. I hope we all move forward and find reconciliation.

Back in high school, when I used to skateboard religiously. I wanted to go down the path of becoming a skateboard videographer/photographer. I went to Film School for that but dropped out after a massive loss in my life and became an addict with issues I haven’t dealt with. 12 years later, I would still love to do that, but I have different priorities as a father of a 5 year old. I’d prefer to find work close to home, or consistent schedule around my family. Maybe one day I will do this with my local skate buds!
