*September 01:* ```On specific information from a reliable source, Police in Baramulla along with Army (52RR) busted terrorist hideout in Dudbug -TY Shah Forest area of Baramulla and recovered huge cache of ammunition.

Police in Baramulla along with Army (52RR) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Dudbug -TY Shah Forest area of Baramulla. During the search operation, the joint team recovered two boxes of ammunition including 1460 bullets of AK 47 and 1 cracked bag from underground hideout under tree. All the recovered materials have been taken into police custody for the purpose of investigation.

The timely recovery of huge ammunition has thwarted any possible untoward incident and has scuttled the nefarious plans of terrorist outfits to derail peace and harmony in the Kashmir Valley.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station and further investigation is in progress.```

*Exen Jal Shakti Department Arrested While Accepting Bribe: ACB*

Srinagar, Aug 18 (GNS): Anti Corruption Bureau on Thursday said to have arrested Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti Department for demanding and accepting bribe.

“Anti Corruption Bureau Srinagar received a written complaint alleging therein that Executive Engineer of Jal Shakti Department, Ground Water Division, Kashmir is demanding rupees 1,36,000 as bribe for issuance of allotment orders in favour of the complainants. The complainants have already paid a bribe of ₹30,000 a few days back. Today the second installment of rupees 25,000 was supposed to be paid. However, before paying the bribe amount to the accused person, the complainants approached Anti-Corruption Bureau for taking legal action against the accused public servant under law”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

“On receipt of the complaint a Case FIR No. 34/2022 U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered and investigation taken up”, reads the statement.

“During the course of investigation a trap team was constituted. The team laid a successful trap and caught the accused public servant Tariq Ahmad Kachroo son of Noor Mohd Kachroo, resident of Undrus, Pampore-Ladoo Road, Pulwama, presently posted as Executive Engineer, Ground Water Division, PHE (Jal Shakti), Kashmir red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount of rupees 25,000 from the complainant as second installment of total demand of bribe of rupees 1,36,000. The bribe money was also recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses. Subsequently, searches were carried out at different locations associated with the accused”, it reads adding further investigation into the case is going on. (GNS)

*4 ITBP personnel killed, 37 others injured as bus fall into gorge near Chandanwari Anantnag*

Srinagar, Aug 16 (GNS): At least four personnel of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were killed while 37 others were injured, some of the very seriously, after a bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rolled down to a gorge near Zig Chandanwari in Anantnag district of south Kashmir on Tuesday.

The bus carrying personnel from ITBP, deployed for yatra duties, was returning from Chandanwari when driver lost control over it and the vehicle fell into gorge, official sources told GNS. Under what circumstance the driver lost control was not immediately known, they said. Four personnel died on the spot while at least 37 others suffered injuries, mostly serious, they said.

A massive rescue operation has been launched to remove the injured personnel to hospital, they added. SDPO Pahalgam Fahad Tak confirmed to GNS that “three to four personnel died on the spot and 37 others were injured”. He said the injured have been evacuated to hospital. (GNS)

*August 12:* ```At about 1515hrs, terrorists fired indiscriminately upon a police personnel near Padshahi Bagh area of Bijbehara in District Anantnag. In this terror crime incident, the said police personnel had received gunshot injuries and was immediately evacuated to hospital for the treatment to his injuries where his condition is stated to be stable.

Senior officers reached at the terror crime spot along with reinforcement. The whole area was cordoned off and search in the area was going on.

Meanwhile earlier in Bandipora, during the intervening night of 11/12 August, at about 0015hrs terrorists had fired upon a labourer identified as Mohammad Amrez son of Mohammad Jalil resident of Madhepura Besarh Bihar at Soadnara Sumbal area of District Bandipora. In this terror incident, he had received critical gunshot injuries and was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital for the treatment of his injuries however, he succumbed to his injuries.

Police has registered cases under relevant sections of law and investigation has been initiated. Officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of these terror crimes.```

Srinagar, July 12:(GNS) A Assistant Sub-Inspector was was killed while two others were injured as Militants on tuesday fired upon police Naka at Lal Bazaar area of Srinagar district.

A top police officer told GNS that militants attacked police Naka at Lal Bazaar. In this incident one ASI identified as Mushtaq Ahmad was killed while as two others recieved bullet wounds.

Department of Social Forestry Budgam swung into awareness compaign mode on World environmental day.
Today on June 5 Social Forestry Department Budgam launched an awareness compaign for the people to keep the environment clean and green under the supervision of Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Range Forest Officer Budgam. during the event all the employees of Social Forestry Department Budgam and other departments took an active part. The event was further attended by Mr. Mehraj ud din Dar, chairman Municipal Council Budgam & Mr. Abdul Majeed Paray, J&K Trade Union Council and other dignitaries. Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Gojri while talking to media highlighted the importance of clean and green environment. A cleanliness drive was also organised during which the area from Main Bus stand to Railway station Budgam was cleaned. *Cyber Police Kashmir outsmarts scammers by saving ₹58 Lakhs*
_₹1.5 crore (approx) saved so far in this year_

*May 12:* ```Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar received duo complaints from two men hailing from North Kashmir’s Bandipora District and South Kashmir’s Awantipora District respectively. The complainants alleged in their complaints that they have been defrauded by online scammers of an amount of Rs 44 lakhs in online investment/trading scam. Both complainants received links of fake investment websites on their cell numbers wherein they were promised to get double monetary benefits. The victims fell prey and accessed the website where they got themselves registered on said websites by opening of e-wallets. After registration, duo victims were made to transfer the hefty amount of ₹44 Lakhs in the said wallets through various UPI/IMPS transactions. The victims after depositing the said amounts were unable to get benefits and also were not able to withdraw even their own amounts from the said wallets. The complainants then tried hard to reach out on available contact details of said company but all in vain.

Accordingly, both complainants approached Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar for redressal of their grievance. Subsequently, the matter was taken up with bank authorities to ascertain the details of UPI/IMPS transactions. During analysis of transactions, it came to fore that the said amount had been settled through online payment gateways. The strenuous and timely intervention by the team of Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar led to holding of the payment of ₹44 Lakhs in two different payment gateways and later on, the whole amount also got refunded into both these victim’s bank accounts.

In another compliant received from one businessman hailing from Srinagar vicinity wherein the victim was cheated/duped by online fraudsters on the pretext of transportation of goods, services through an e-Commerce company web portal. The complainant was looking for goods-carrier services to transport the goods of his firm. He searched through Google search engine in which an e-Commerce company’s web portal surfaced which was operated by Cyber Scammers. The complainant contacted on the cell numbers provided for the fake company wherein the fraudsters who picked up the call on the other end & offered him to provide goods/services at low costs. Enticed by the offer, the complainant made online payment of ₹16 Lakhs. On receipt of the money, the complainant was not able to contact the company again. Upon realizing that he was cheated by fraudsters through the above fake web portal, the complainant approached Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar for redressal of his grievance.

Accordingly, the matter was taken up with bank authorities to ascertain the details of transactions. During analysis of transactions, it came to fore that the said hefty amount has been transferred through RTGS payment. Timely and strenuous intervention by the Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar was able to hold the payment of ₹16 Lakhs and later banking authorities were made to refund the whole amount into the complainant’s bank account.

The general public is once again advised not to fall prey to such fake links and websites and to avoid transferring any amount in any form as these are entirely fake. Community members have hailed the prompt action of Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar in saving the hard earned money of the victims.

Pertinently, acting tough against Cyber Criminals, Cyber Police Station, Kashmir has redressed large number of social media & financial fraud-related complaints and in the current year, an amount of ₹1.50 crore (approx) was prevented from being swindled.```

*Injured Kashmiri Pandit Employee Succumbs To Injuries*

Srinagar, May 12: A Kashmiri migrant emploee who was shot and injured by militants in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district succumbed to injuries on Thursday.

A police official told GNS that the gunmen fired upon the migrant identified as Rahul Bhat, an employee in local Tehsil office, at Chadoora this afternoon. He was immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Chadoora wherefrom he was shifted to SMHS hospital here for specialized treatment.

A doctor at SMHS hospital told GNS that Rahul succumbed to injuries. Meanwhile the police official said that soon after the attack, the area was condoned off and searches launched. (GNS)

*March 06:* ```Police have busted a terror module of proscribed terror outfit JeM in Awantipora and arrested 4 terrorist associates. Besides, in a gr***de incident at Amira Kadal area of Srinagar, 23 civilians and one police personnel received splinter injuries while as one injured civilian succumbed to his injuries.

Police in Awantipora have busted a terror module of proscribed terror outfit JeM by arresting four terrorist associates identified as Umar Farooq Dar son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Shahbad, Soraj Manzoor Malik son of Manzoor Ahmad Malik resident of Midoora, Irshad Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Mohd Lone resident of Midora and Afnan Javeed Khan son of Javid Ahmad resident of Shahbad.

During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that these arrested terrorist associates were involved in providing shelter, logistic support and transportation of arms/ammunition to the terrorists Umais and Abdul Rahman a foreign terrorist.

Meanwhile, today at about 1620hrs, terrorists hurled a gr***de at a civilian hotspot in Amira Kadal area of Srinagar. In this terror incident, 23 civilians and one police personnel identified as John Mohammad received splinter injuries. All the injured were shifted to hospital for the treatment of their injuries however, one elderly civilian identified as Mohammad Aslam Makhdoomi son of Mohammad Amin resident of Makhdoom Sahib age about 60 years succumbed to his injuries.

Senior Police officers immediately reached at the terror crime spot and area has been cordoned off.

IGP Kashmir said that Police is working hard for identification and arrest of involved terror criminal involved in today’s gr***de attack and will smash this gr***de throwing module at an earliest. He also said that Police have got some vital clues and investigation is rigorously going on in the right direction.

*December 27:* ```Police alongwith security forces have arrested two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM and recovered incriminating materials from their possession.

Acting on specific input, Pulwama Police along with 44RR and 182BN CRPF apprehended 02 terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM. They have been identified as Adil Ali son of Ali Mohd Bhat resident of Acchan and Asif Gulzar son of Gulzar Ahmad Dar resident of Hajidarpora. Incriminating materials of the proscribed terror outfit JeM were recovered from their possession.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested duo were in touch with JeM commanders & were involved in providing logistics, shelter as well as transportation of arms, ammunition and explosive materials to the terrorists of proscribed terror outfit JeM to strengthen terror networks operating across district Budgam.

*Police busts fake currency racket; 03 accused persons arrested*

*December 23:* ```Police in Budgam have busted a fake currency racket and arrested 03 persons involved in the commission of crime. Besides counterfeit currency notes worth ₹45,000 & other tools were also recovered.

A police party from Police post Narbal at a checkpoint established at Narbal, intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK01AB-9599 driven by Taufeeq Hussain Khawaja son of Mohammad Akbar Khawaja resident of Baliharan Singhpora Pattan Baramulla. During search, officers were able to recover printed counterfeit currency notes worth ₹45,000 from the vehicle. The accused person was arrested and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation and on his confession about his involvement in printing fake currency notes at his house at Baliharan Singhpora Baramulla, a raid was carried out at his house. During search, 02 printers, one paper cutter, 02 reams of bond paper, 01 Mobile Phone & 10 number of bond papers with printed ₹100/ fake currency notes were recovered and seized.

During questioning, the accused person also revealed involvement of his two associates who were circulating the fake currency notes in the market. They have been identified as Farooq Ahmad Ganaie son of Ab Ahad Ganaie resident of Kalsari Pattan and Abdul Hamid Ganaie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganaie resident of Burran Pattan and subsequently arrested. They were also shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.

A case vide FIR No. 262/2021 stands registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation is in progress. More arrests and recoveries are expected in the instant case.

*December 18:* ```As a part of public outreach programme, Police in Kulgam facilitated a police public meeting within the jurisdiction of PS Kulgam. The meeting was chaired by SSP Kulgam Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS.

Senior Police officers of the district were also present on the occasion. The meeting was attended by respectable citizens including DDC Phaloo, DDC Beibagh, DDC Manzgam, Tehsildar Kulgam, Chairman of MC Kulgam, Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders Federation/Fruit Associations and students of Kulgam and it's adjacent areas.

The participants highlighted various issues pertaining to civil & Police administration. 1. *On 24-12-2021 Friday* , there shall be no traffic movement on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road from either side in view of maintenance/repairing on *Zoji La axis* .
2. *Restriction on Dhar Road for HMVs with more than 10 tyres*
HMVs with only 06 and 10 tyres shall be allowed to ply through Dhar road.

*TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 18-12-2021*

Tomorrow, subject to fair weather and better road condition *LMVs(Passenger)* shall be allowed *from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW* viz *Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa* . *TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban* before releasing the traffic.

*CUT OFF TIMING:*
*LMVs from Nagrota (Jammu) 0500 hrs to 1200 hrs,*
*from Jakheni (Udhampur) 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs* &

Security Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. *They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar* after confirming the status of NHW.

*MUGHAL ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition , *LMVs from both sides and HMVs (upto twelve tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch* shall be allowed on Mughal road. *LMVs from Behramgalla 1000 hrs upto 1400 hrs. and LMVs followed by HMVs from Herpora 1100 hrs upto 1500 hrs* .

*SSG ROAD*
Subject to fair weather and good road condition , only one way traffic *from Kargil towards Srinagar* shall be allowed on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road. *LMVs followed by HMVs will be released from Minamarg at 0900 hrs. upto 1400 hrs .* No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

*KISHTWAR-SINTHAN ROAD*
No traffic movement shall be allowed on Kishtwar-Sinthan Road in view of snow accumulation.

*Police solves murder case in Srinagar; Accused arrested within hours*

*December 17:* ```Police in Srinagar have solved a murder case within hours by arresting the accused person involved in commission of crime.

On 16/12/2021, Police Station Lal Bazar received information that an elderly lady namely Mst Mala widow of Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh was murdered brutally by some unknown person at her residence at Behrar, Bhagwanpora.

On this information, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Lal Bazar and investigation was set into motion.

During the course of investigation, it surfaced that the family have hired a domestic helper namely Omprakash Saha resident of Tatuli village, Uttarakhand from an agency on a contract for a year and the helper was also missing and probably fled the scene 4 hours before the reporting of the incident.

During further investigation and sustained efforts by police, different teams were deputed to different locations and the vehicle used by the suspect was traced to be carrying the suspect to Jammu which was timely intercepted and accused was arrested who confessed to committing the crime. Prime motive apparently seems to have been the robbing of jewellery which the victim was donning at the time of incident. He has been shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.

The case was supervised by SP Hazratbal Shri Irshad Hussain Rather-JKPS and SDPO Zadibal Shri Shafat Ahmed-JKPS and being investigated by SHO PS Lalbazar. The case has been solved within one hour of reportage of the incident.

Further revelation and role of consultancy agencies while providing of these domestic helpers without following norms are being looked into and accordingly legal action will follow.

Community members have applauded the efforts of police for cracking the case in professional manner to arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime. Police requests general public to get their tenants and domestic helpers verified from their concerned police stations.```

*SI injured in Khanyar militant attack succumbs*

Srinagar, September 12: Probational Sub- Inspector, who was injured in a militant attack at Khanyar here, succumbed to the injuries at SKIMS Soura, officials said.

A police official told GNS that the SI identified as Arshid Ahmad was removed to the tertiary care hospital soon after he sustained three bullet wounds in militant attack near Khanyar.

Medical Superintendent Farooq Jan also confirmed to GNS about death of the SI.

Earlier he was being operated in SKIMS.

The decease was a resident of Kulmuna Kupwara, the official said.
