SPECIAL FORCES RECRUITMENT CANDIDATE, ELISHA DAKA DIES
The Zambia Army Commander, Lieutenant General Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi is saddened with the death of one of the special forces recruitment candidates in Ndola.
Mr Elisha Daka, 21,collapsed during the 'mandatory medical military requirement run' and was pronounced dead upon arrival at 1Commando Unit Camp hospital where he was rushed.
The 'Mandatory medical military requirement run' is part of the physical assessment tests that are conducted for one to pass the required medical examinations.
The Army will, however, continue to enforce all necessary standards to ensure the safety and well-being of all candidates participating in the recruitment process.
Zambia Army Commander Lt GEN Sitali Dennis Alibuzwi on behalf of the Zambia Army expresses his deepest condolences to the Daka family during this difficult time.
Mr Daka's Next of Kin has since been informed.
We, however, wish to advise short listed candidates not to force themselves to attend the interviews if they are not feeling well but wait for other opportunities in the near future or apply for employment in organisations which do not demand for physical and mental challenging activities.
Further, the Zambia Army wishes to advise all candidates participating in all selection processes categories (officers selection board, regular soldier recruitment and special forces operatives recruitment) to have a relatively high level of physical fitness.
May the Soul of Mr Daka Rest In Eternal Peace!
