Why have some become more thoughtless rituals than occasional observances? •

The girls aim to answer these questions and get a better understanding on superstitions on this week's episode. They explore the origins of some of the most adhered traditions that began their journey as regional superstitions. They also list some of the daily rituals we observe today without a second pensive thought as to why we perform them, and provide some cultural specific ones that have been passed down through generations in their heritage. Through this, they find that superstitions, like most folklore, were verbal vessels intended to pass down information from generation to generation when reading and writing were not traits readily accessible to everyone. The information and knowledge from our ancestors was guised at times under what may seem like ridiculous independent clauses, but when broken down, display valued, and at times, life saving information. So the next time you observe superstitions, pay attention to the value it may bring to your life.

This episode is crazy jampacked with information on how to treat poor mental health. An ignored poor mental state is one of the leading causes of suicides and other potential health hazards ailing 1 out of 5 adults today. With this last installment, the girls hope to drive the importance of a checked and treated mental state to the forefront to both bringing awareness to the seriousness of the issue, as well as breaking the age old taboo of speaking openly and honestly about ones mental state. On our last installment of the Addiction series, we receive a call from a fellow podcaster, Carmen from !!! (CHECK THEM OUT AND FOLLOW!) Carmen not only brings forth her addiction story though a female's perspective, but also through a second generational lens. She speaks about her initial trauma/survival story that initiated her codependency with alcohol, and the journey that codependency lead her down. However, through realization and acceptance of her own addiction, and with an understanding familial and friend support system she explains how she has overcome many obstacles to achieve nearly 1 year of sobriety and her plans for the anniversary. Torie and Grizzi discuss all the first hand stories in a summary and final explain why it was important to discuss such a overwhelming yet crucial topic at length.

Hi all you chaotic consepies!
If you are interested in a good read about one of the topics from last week's episode: "Something Spooky "one of our listeners shared their experience with inducing lucid dreaming as a means towards astral projection and other sleep phenomena. Below is what they wrote in to us. Let us know what you think:

Think of your brain like water .. the frequencies change the state of your brain the same way a drop of water creates ripples in the calm water . Ultimately the ripples increase until the water is no longer in a state of calm. The frequencies change the state of your brain and make it easier to navigate. There are diff types of frequencies though like alpha , beta , gamma, theta , & delta waves .. each with their own characteristics for example, Theta waves are used to induce heavy relaxation whereas gamma waves are linked to higher mental functions such as critical thinking & perception. Btw these are known as BINAURAL BEATS .
The frequencies are just a tool though .. My intention was NEVER to lucid dream. I was aiming higher. ASTRAL PROJECTION. Years ago I heard a rumor that the cia was conducting serious studies on Astral Projection called the Gateway Report.

PAUSE— when I was a kid I was plagued by sleep paralysis. I’d feel this pyramid blocks stacking on my body while my eyes were wide open .. it was terrifying and it was hella often. It went away after years and because it even happens to begin with , I began to study psychology, spirituality, religion, demonology, and the occult just to see if there was anything that correlates. When I found out about Astral projection & sleep paralysis I became OBSESSED with the idea of mastering it.
After years of research I finally decided to give it a go. First I would play my 7 hour binaural beats & I would start by laying down on my back with my hands to my side palms facing down. YOU HAVE TO set yourself in a position that you’re comfortable not moving in because you absolutely CANNOT move. The first 30 min are hard . You want to twitch your fingers or move your toes. Sometimes you wanna swallow or wiggle your knee. But you absolutely CANNOT move a single muscle. This was the hardest part. I went days failing before I got it right. Mental fortitude is required because this is not for the weak minded individual. You must have the self control to fight all your urges to move ALL WHILE managing to stay awake mentally. The next step I was unprepared for and unaware of until it happened

The next step is inducing SLEEP PARALYSIS while you’re still awake mentally … I DID NOT KNOW THIS. Sleep paralysis is scary af but the only way to induce a state of legitimate Lucid Dreaming

is to make your body fall asleep while maintaining mental awareness… That is NOT easy which is why this art is still considered esoteric.
If you can manage to fall into sleep paralysis while still being conscious, now it’s time to use our imagination. To create your reality you start by envisioning shapes and colors until they start to move all around and create an actual scene. Next thing you know all you can see is the reality you’ve created … It’s a simple process but it’s far more difficult to execute considering the lack of actual self control in mankind nowadays.
