Sikyong Penpa Tsering, President of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile (officially known as the Central Tibetan Administration), has said that the world needs to treat Tibetans as “partners” rather than “victims” of Chinese communism.

In his exclusive interview with ABP Live‘s Nayanima Basu, Sikyong Penpa Tsering said that China is increasingly becoming “paranoid” about security issues and it is only when New Delhi will align its interest with Tibet, will both sides be able to “move forward.

Two hears ago, on 10th December 2021, The Independent-Online News published Tsering Passang's article - Don’t forget the atrocities committed by the Chinese Communist Party over the last 100 years.

Key message:

The free world must work to stop the Chinese Communist Party from using its economic muscle to hoodwink gullible leaders into supporting aims which run counter to freedom and democracy. The CCP and its rogue leaders must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity over the past 100 years.

As the UK Parliament is set to discuss on “Persecution of Buddhists in Tibet” this Thursday, led by Jim Shannon MP, please urge your local MP to participate in this important Westminster Hall Debate. We haven’t had such debate on Tibet some time.

This is an opportunity to do something for Tibetans in Tibet whose freedom of religious belief is curtailed by Communist China. Your action will make a difference today. Thank you!

Dr. Shao Jiang, June Fourth Sparks’ co-founder, said: “The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has consistently denied everyone’s right to periodic and genuine elections, and thus its regime has never been authorised by the will of the people. The 74-year rule of the CCP is illegal under Article 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The United Kingdom has been the first country in the Western world to recognize the CCP regime, and has participated in the deprivation of the human rights under the CCP rule, economic plunder and exploitation, which is one of the basic reasons for the continuing man-made disasters under the CCP rule, leading to the ongoing deterioration in human rights and democracy in the United Kingdom.”

Chinese-led team issued warning: "... as climate change speeds up the melting of glaciers on the Tibetan Plateau, the impact on the densely populated region of Southeast Asia could be bigger than anything seen in the last millennium".

The Tibetan Plateau is referred to as the “Asian water tower” because the glacier-fed rivers that flow from the plateau are the main source of water for much of South and Southeast Asia. That water supply is vital for providing food to those areas – from rice cultivation to fish harvests.

The Mekong is the longest river in Southeast Asia, crossing China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. The Salween flows from China to Myanmar and Thailand, while Yarlung Tsangpo (the upper stream of the Brahmaputra River) runs through China, India and Bangladesh.

Furthermore, China's damming of rivers originating from Tibet, as well re-directing natural river courses to China's hinterlands cause additional problems to the downstream countries, where over a billion people depend on it.

A Chinese-led team of international scientists has recreated the streamflow from the Asian water tower over the last millennium
