🌅Fraser Island🌅

We've been to Fraser Island a couple of times in the last few years and I have to say that every time we discovered something new, something magical.

This massive sand island will always have a special place in my heart. Back in the days, when we had just arrived in Australia as Backpackers, Fraser Island was our first stop and therefore the start of falling in love with camping, exploring, and offroading.

This time it was putting our completely fresh, two week old, setup to the test, to see if everything would work out. Needless to say, we were pretty nervous BUT besides some trouble with our old cracking battery, we didn't experienced any issues! Everything important works, like the hot shower system, by far the most important thing when camping in winter!

This last time was a blast again, and we couldn't miss one of my favourite spots of the island, Indian Head. Sneaking our car in front of it with the incoming tide was certainly an experience.

🌅 break 🌅

Hey, we are still alive. We have been extremely busy with work lately and after that finished in April we had heaps of work on our small amazing setup to do.
Last week we finally said a temporary goodbye to the place we called home for the last two years to live on the road for a while.
First stop after saying sad goodbyes to our friends in Brisbane was Fraser with very limited internet but a great chance to test our new setup. So here we are, Christian and Frieda, living on the road.
Thanks for following our journey, we also don't really know what is ahead of us, so we are as excited as you!

See you just down the road!

🌴 beach 🌴

Throwback to summer times before the storm season started. Hanging out with some of the best camping company and at one of the most beautiful spots in New South Whales, Minnie Waters. It was such a good time!

I am missing the salty air and the warm sun on my skin because we weren't camping for way to long. The weather conditions and rebuilding forced us to stay home for a little longer then we wanted. But time is counting down. Not much longer until we hit the road!

🌲Rainforest🌲

I just love rainforests! I could spend hours of hours hiking and exploring, or until I am soaked.
I love the fresh clean air away from the cities. Sometimes I feel like I could literally taste the oxygen in the air.

I can't wait to see more rainforests on our upcoming trip to the tropical part of the country. Do you have a favorite rainforest?

❤ nine ❤

We spend the last nine years together side by side. It was a wild ride with weird, hard, and funny times in which we stood together as a team.
In the last nine years we learned so much and grew not only as a couple but as individuals. Moving away from home, traveling together, and living in a tent for a year has tought us what we really needed in life.

The next month is going to busy and wild but I can't wait for the trip that awaits us!

🌲 View 🌲

Just me, sitting on a bridge enjoying the view. It is way to easy to just walk by, to keep our gaze down on the street ahead of us. It is easy to miss all the amazing views and beautiful things that await us just a few steps away from the beaten track.

It feels good just to wander, to take the time to get lost, or just to sit down an enjoy the view.

In a world that seems to have been running on high speed and come to a hard pause due to the current situation, I feel that this is one of the things that prevents me from losing my mind.

🍻 Cheers 🍻

Can't get much better then this! Having a drink with good company on the beach watching the sun slowly sink into the ocean, showing an amazing display of colors.

I love watching the sun disappear in the ocean but there are very few spots on the east coast to see this natural event. This is one of the reasons why Moreton Island will always be one of my favorite spots on the east coast!

Yes, I know technically you can see the mainland of Australia in the background but it is so tiny that it doesn't count!

Where is your favorite spot to watch the sun set?

🚜 Changes 🚜

I am pretty nervous because we will be switching our setup over. I mean completely. Tomorrow the Nav will have to drive around without pants for a bit because we are giving away our canopy and tray to make room for a new one!
So it's time to say goodbye to the way the nav looks at the moment!
Stay tuned to see how we fit out next solution. I am super excited but also aware of the fact that we need to be rather quick to get everything done before we leave in May. But I am sure it will be fine.

💧 water 💧

It all started with water.

It is fascinating to think about water. One drop of water can't do anything, you might even say one drop of water is completely irrelevant. But when many drops come together they can unleash a force that shapes the environment into something new. And even single drops over time can change the face of a landscape completely, just with its persistence.

We all would be here today, if water wouldn't fill the depth of the ocean with a mineral dense breeding ground for live.

Water doesn't seem like much but it is so strong and powerful that it can start, change and even end life.

But on this note, waterfalls are pretty! What was you most beautiful water experience?

💚 Travel-Mate 💚

We've been together for some time now and I everyday is still such an amazing adventure with you. Together we explore the world with different perspectives and share our thoughts and impressions with one another. It is wild how many different things two sets of eyes see in the same moment.

Traveling alone can be a journey to your true self, which I appreciate. But I personally always loved to share everything I saw and felt with this one special person. We were always close but traveling together made us bound even more.

Do you prefer to travel alone or with a travel mate?

💙 float 💙

In the middle of the dam I stopped to take a break. To float on the clear water and to appreciate the amazing nature that surrounds me. Stopping and just floating, to spot all the little things that come together to shape this amazing eco system, from algae, to fish, to insects, the wonderful strange dragonflies, and birds. They all play an important role in this fine tuned system that is so easily interrupted.

I am just floating by, just a mindful visitor greeting to locals, careful not to interrupt the process.

Sometimes we just need to float by and be in awe of this amazing nature that surrounds is.

🌌 Infinity 🌌

Infinity is a concept that fascinate me deeply but my mind is having such a difficult time to gasp it.

I feel drawn to the ocean that appears deep and endless and the universe that is indeed infinite. Standing on my board in the middle of the ocean, staring in the sky tends to unsettle me while it also releases a calmness that I can't find anywhere else. I feel lost in the openness, feeling so small.

I truly love it! Do you ever had that same weird sensation or is it just me?

°° Breathing °°

When was the last time you stopped and just took a deep breath? When was the last time you filled your lungs with the fresh air just after the rain has stopped falling from the heavy clouds? When was the last time you inhaled the rich air in the forest? When was the last time you tasted the thin air in the mountains?

Sometimes I do forget to breath deeply and to taste the air. It tells so much about the place you are visiting. I wonder if we should use our senses differently to understand the world a bit better every day.

💧Waterfalls💧

Hiking up the rainforest, watching the clouds slowly disappear over the ridge and revealing countless waterfalls....

Its moments like this I realise how lucky we are to live in such a beatiful part of the world.
I can only hope that I will always be grateful for the opportunity to call this our home.

(Yeah alright it wasnt countless waterfalls, but 12 never the less)


💧Wasserfälle💧

Den Regenwald hoch wandern, die Wolken über der klippenkante langsam verschwinde sehen wodurch sich die zahllosen Wasserfälle offenbaren...

Es sind Momente wie diese bei denen ich realisiere was für ein Glück wir eigentlich haben an solchen wunderschönen Teil der Erde zu leben.
Ich kann einfach nur hoffen, dass ich auf ewig dankbar dafür sein werde die Möglichkeit gehabt zu haben diesen Ort "zu Hause" nennen zu dürfen.

(Ja ok, es waren nicht zahllose Wasserfälle, aber immerhin 12)

⛰caves⛰

Did you ever hiked through a trail leading up to a cave and thought something like "naaa I watched to many movies, I'm not going in there"!

I experienced exactly that in one of our hikes through .It got even worse once I saw which sorta cave monster was lurking deep inside it...

A dancing Frieda! Don't get to close. If you wanna feed her, just leave some avos at the cave entry.


Seid ihr jemals wandern gegangen und der Weg hat euch zu einer Höhle geführt und ihr dachtet: "nö, ich hab zu viele Filme gesehen, da geh ich nicht rein"

Genau das ist mir kürzlich im passiert.
Es wurde sogar noch schlimmer als ich gesehen habe, was für ein Höhlenmonster sich dort versteckt.
Eine tanzende Frieda. Kommt ihr nicht zu Nahe!! Falls ihr sie füttern wollt, lasst einfach ein paar Avokados am Eingang liegen.

🚜The Rig🚜

Since we bought our ute 3 years ago we modified it quite a bit to suit our needs with the biggest changeover yet to come (soon).

We knew straight up that we going to put it through its paces. Stuff like pinstripes, dents or resale value just doesn't bother us at all since this ute is here to stay.
With our upcoming tray and canopy makeover, through , we will be able to live on the road full time.
100l fresh water tank, hot water system and 350w solar are just a couple of key features we are planning to implement.

Last weekend was filled with impressions. Hiking and exploring the lush rainforest and discovering amazing waterfalls. It was wonderful to fill my lungs with the fresh oxygen rich air, not hearing any noise but nature's music. I love to soak it all in and let the impression settle over a fresh brewed coffee or tea.

🌴 rainforest 🌴

After a week of heavy rain there is absolutly no question about what to do on the weekend.
We packed the car on Friday and went straight into the rainforest.
The way up the range was still pretty rainy, the visibility went down to a couple of hundred metres a we were covered in clouds in no time.
But oh boi it was one of the best weekends we had in a long time.

We hiked through dense lush rainforests and we got to see waterfalls we didnt even know they exist.

Best thing about it, we booked the campsite nearly half a year ago hoping we might get some rain beforehand.
Little did we know that this was probably the best weekend in years to visit .

When I was 15 years old I listen to "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against and cried because I always dreamed of this special something with someone but I was sure that I would never find it, until I met .
Guess I was wrong! Together we will settle down where palm trees grow and spend our days talking about the places we want to see.
We might seem weird to some and we might not always follow traditional expectations but this is truly us.
I hope that everyone can find this special something in their life.

Serenity

Even though we live in a small rural town it can still feel busy from time to time so we went out for a day trip and a bit of an explore.

The is just 15min away from home and we decided to take the kayak and the subboard out for a bit of a morning exercise.

Another 15min in the water we were fully surrounded by nature and the only thing we could hear were the laughing sounds of some .

Such a serenity just 30min from.
