I actually really love the idea of doing a private cake cutting with your person after all the craziness of your wedding day has happened. I personally feel really self conscious with people watching me do things, so if I could go back in time and save some of our cake to do this privately…I totally would, haha.

Holy moly...I can not decide with these which I love more. Black and white really is calling my name so much lately... This isn't the last you'll see me post from this gorgeous session. Busy season is slowly winding down, but I'm still hustling for my photographer clients and then editing my work in between. So incredibly grateful for this career of mine ❤️

All I wanted for Mother’s Day was to make it to our local craft fair so I could get some photos done with . Luckily my husband was totally on board and all about making this happen for me 🙌🏻 So in love with how these turned out!

Doing lots of fun (and necessary) things over here!

•Updating my scheduler to include my available appointment dates through August 🙌🏻

And most importantly…soaking in all the time in this slower season to really be present with my kiddos and husband! Last busy season was pure craziness and this time around I’m making sure to space things a little differently to not only have more time for my family, but to not make my workload too much!

Can’t preach about a work-life balance and not have one for yourself! Am I right?! 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

Anybody else choosing to work on their Sunday? 😬🙋‍♀️ I had a much needed day off yesterday and had a socially distanced winery meet up with two of my oldest girlfriends, and had the BEST time catching up with them.

My week is looking pretty packed, so I’m getting some editing in today to get a head start for the week 🤗

Oops...we did it again...

If you’ve been following me for a little while then you know I made a pretty big deal about us moving to Vermont back in September. We’ve been on a quest for the past 2 years to find “home” and it had been our dream for awhile to create our new life there. But, it turns out Vermont wasn’t quite for us and we actually moved to Virginia in early December!

I share this because so often we’re told that it’s ok to not have everything figured out...Your life, your finances, your career, etc. However, I don’t know about you, but sometimes it’s really hard to feel like you AREN’T the only one who doesn’t have life figured out.

Luckily, we weren’t locked into a lease or anything and moving was fairly easy...minus the actual moving of stuff and wrangling 2 kids under 5 😩

To be totally honest, we were a little embarrassed to admit Vermont didn’t work out, but again, we’re working on building the life we love and life is too short to stay somewhere if you know it’s not for you.

We’re originally from Virginia and realized we really missed being close to friends and family after being gone for 10 years. It’s hard to keep starting over each time you move!

We chose to move to a new part of the state where we could see ourselves (Charlottesville 🙌🏻), but be a short 1-2 hours from loved ones.

Some people have certain aspects of their life figured out by 25 and others at 35...45...etc. There’s no exact recipe on the right way to do life!

Anyway! This is my verrrry long way of saying that it’s ok to change your mind, make mistakes, and experiment until you find what you’re looking for! Who cares what other people think 😉

Anyone else suffer from carpal tunnel? If so, I feel your pain 😩

Since I now edit almost everyday, I had to upgrade my situation to be more ergonomic for my poor hand/wrist. I’ve been using this sweet little set up for a few days now and feel so much better! I got the Magic Grips for the Apple mouse to help widen my grip (sooo nice!), and the Mello to go on top of the mouse 🙌🏻 My wrist is now kept at a way healthier angle to support my mouse usage for 6-7 hrs a day.

Just a friendly reminder to always work safely 🤗 Now, back to editing!

Are you staying up late, stressing out over sending off galleries to clients? If you’re getting weekly emails from them asking when their photos will be done (AH!), let’s end that!

I am happy to edit smaller galleries! For galleries less than 140 photos it’s a flat fee of $40. I’m also totally ok with you combining multiple sessions within that photo limit-as long as the location is the same!

The holidays are upon us and I think I speak for all of us when I say that nobody wants to be stressing any extra than they have to 😩

Instead of doing a trial run, I’m offering to edit the first 50 photos of your catalog for free to help speed up the process (if that’s something you’re interested in!)

I feel like outsourcing is starting to get more common and normalized...am I right?

Maybe it’s the pandemic making people realize life is too short to spend it doing ANYTHING you don’t really enjoy...or maybe people are just hearing about it more 🤷‍♀️

I’ve honestly been really surprised at the amount of people reaching out to outsource! Not only are we in a pandemic, but I thought we were at the end of busy season...apparently not!

I’m saying all this because even though it might be the tail end of your busy season, if it was this busy the past few months for me and other fellow private editors...I can’t imagine how much busier we’ll be come this spring/summer when *hopefully* life is more on track and back to normal.

I’m only taking on (I think) 3-4 more clients for 2021 in order to still spend time with my kids, my husband, and explore our new state 🤗

SO, even if you’re not particularly busy the next couple months, if a trial run with me is something you’re interested in, doing it sooner rather than later and getting on my client list might be a good idea before my editing dates book up 👍🏻

Super super grateful to my clients who trust me to edit their photos and allow me to get to do what I love 💗🥰
