Just inside entrance to cave maze, with access available only at low tide. Was a great place to hide form the Truant Officer when I took a day off school. Sometimes there were about 14 of us hiding in the caves.

Where the Pennard Pill shakes hands with the sea. In early Spring before the holiday makers come down to the beach, you can walk up the pill and feel the refreshing water run through your toes. This is early August 2022, its never too busy for some solitude. A ghost or two is often the only folk you will meet, and that ain't too scary.

The Arch of Three Cliffs Bay, and the Mermaid pool. My Mum one told me that the four winds lived in the tunnel between the rocks. Ove the years I have found this to be true. This is described in my mothers words, in my book Cave Days. The Mermaid pool becomes deeper in the winter months, and is deep emerald in colour. I learned to swim there at 5 years old

The Pennard Pill in July . The Pennard Pill has many secrets. It keeps many of mine and is a true friend. If you sit in a rubber ring, you can tell your secrets to the river for about half an hour before you reach the sea. you do have to get out at the stepping stones, and then climb back into your rubber ring

The Cove at Pobbles Beach. Pobbles welcomes you by the sound of the roaring surf long before you see it. The roar of the sea gives you the spring in your step as you trudge through the deep yellow sand. The promise of adventure is sung in the dunes as the wind blows through the long grasses and sings you a song on your way. The footprints of each new day tell stories upon the sand. They are other peoples stories. But when you cross the chatting stones onto the sands, you can make your own stories. I like the bikinis up in the dunes, and the waves as they crash over you and take you up the beach to meet new friends.

One of the caves at Pobbles Beach. One of them collapsed when I was playing in the school yard one and a half miles away. It sounded like an earthquake. We all had to assemble on the school lawn, which made me very happy as I didn't have to go into my classroom and learn English Literature. I never did learn much at school. It didn't really matter because I became a writer anyway.

the same Ghost that my Mum and I saw when I was 5, was still there last time I visited the castle. It followed us on our walk around the castle. The tour guide sees it regularly and it rarely doesn't show up, he told me.
