Why I created this page on Facebook?

First of all because I love cinema, it has been with me in a period when I needed art more than ever.

But did I create this page only to share quotes and clips? No.

What are we currently looking for: People who are passionate on cinema and can join us to grow this page (though we’ve used ads too) and in other social networks (ie. Tiktok), since we want to grow with a group of people who will work together.
We are also looking for reviewers and other possible collaborations.

But what I would I like to do in the future if we can ever make it possible? Obviously I think something needs to change in the situation of cinema. And how? Today we have many VOD services competing, but not one of them is great. Not the most commercial ones like Netflix or Disney, but also Mubi or Janus, because I also think a film released 50 years ago shouldn’t be expensive, there should be much more availability. But there isn’t enough work being done to support the real artists today, why don’t we have a new cinema?

Right now we need a platform for artists who can receive support, the best would be a subscription service, better than what Patreon is. Where subscribers would fund projects, both short and feature films. A team of critics who would select the best projects to receive their approval. This also with shorter copyright duration (ie. 10 years max) this will allow people to access more films. It would have to expand in many countries. And no remakes, no sequels.

Then the AI, I think it is the future of cinema, not for screenwriting but for production, animating, dubbing and inspiration, because I believe a script should come from somebody’s life experience and not a machine, but if AI can allow artists to complete films in a way much easier and cheaper then why don’t we try it? A project like this would need crowdfunding even though it would obviously be very hard.
