A Call for Constructive Criticism and Accountability.
By Aliyu Etsu Abdulmalik Lafiagi.
As Nigeria continues to navigate its democratic journey, it's essential that we foster a culture of constructive criticism and accountability. The recent criticisms leveled against the APC government by members of the PDP have sparked a heated debate about the role of the opposition in a democratic society.
While it's understandable that the PDP would want to hold the current government accountable for its actions, it's equally important that they acknowledge their own party's 16-year record in power. The PDP's time in office was marked by significant challenges, and it's essential that they take responsibility for their actions and acknowledge the lessons they've learned.
Rather than simply opposing the current government's policies, the PDP should focus on offering alternative solutions that can help move the country forward. This requires a willingness to engage in constructive dialogue and to work collaboratively with other stakeholders to find common ground.
By promoting a culture of constructive criticism and accountability, we can build a more robust and resilient democracy that serves the needs of all Nigerians. It's time for the PDP to take a more constructive approach to opposition, one that prioritizes the needs of the nation over partisan politics.
Let's work together to build a brighter future for Nigeria.
