SNOWY LOUISIANA CYPRESS! This is probably my favorite picture from last week's snowstorm. Incredible to see this cypress tree coated in snow in south Louisiana.

It's remarkable that some people think my posts are AI-generated simply because of my page's name. 🤔 The rise of AI has altered how people perceive online content. An extraordinary photo is often met with skepticism, with many assuming it's AI-generated. The same applies to photos or videos of unusual creatures. As AI-generated content becomes increasingly prevalent, it's becoming increasingly difficult for people to discern what's real and what's not, resulting in disagreements over the authenticity of online content.

Wednesday, January 22, 2025, a historic winter storm is blanketing parts of Florida with snow, sleet, and ice, with the Florida Panhandle being the most affected area. The storm has already broken the state’s 130-year-old record for total snowfall, with unofficial reports of up to 5.5 inches of snow in Escambia County. The winter storm warning is in effect, with multiple inches of snow expected to fall across most of the Florida panhandle from Tallahassee to Pensacola.

Are Americans conveying a message to the government by transitioning to the Chinese social app Red Note? They have been greeted warmly, and the American people are discovering that it diverges from what they have been told their entire lives. The Chinese people are not fundamentally different from the American people. In a display of rebellion, Americans are joining Red Note.

The TikTok app shutdown and go's dark on January 18, 2025. President Biden signed legislation last spring requiring either a sale or ban of the Chinese-owned app for national security reasons. The Supreme Court upheld this law, meaning the ban could proceed. Some users are preparing by downloading their data and videos from the app before it potentially becomes less usable or completely inaccessible.

Author's note: Is this really a Chinese owned app? Was our data truly being Leak over there?
Why do some of the Congress men or women that were involved in banning TikTok had stocks in Facebook? Was this an inside trader Ploy?
Too many questions that are not getting answered. Do the American people have the freedom of speech?

Thank you to more perfect union on TikTok for bringing us this story. This is what they had to say.

We went to North Carolina to talk to
residents about the aftermath of Hurricane
Helene.
The media attention is gone and FEMA is
scaling back operations. But people are still
reeling.
Our disaster recovery systems are failing
and its, only getting worse. day-to-day life right
FEMA spends 6x as much on disaster relief
now as it did a decade ago. One solution? Making fossil fuel companies
cover some of these costs.
A bill in New York would do just that- and
Governor Kathy Hochul has until the end of
the year to sign it.

20 years ago, any car trip on most roads meant a windshield covered in bugs crushed by impact. Today this no longer happens to the same extent.

It may seem great to travel with a clean windshield. But where did all the insects go!?

According to a study 40% of all insect species are in decline and could disappear in the coming decades. Many factors are in the mix, including the usual suspects: human-caused habitat changes, deforestation and conversion of natural habitats for agriculture, chemicals such as herbicides, fungicides and pesticides. Insecticides, and neonicotinoids have been implicated in the global decline of bees.

Climate change.

On January 8, 2025, unknown suspects stole three Humvees and other military equipment from an Army Reserve Center in Tustin, California. The thieves cut a fence to gain access to a storage warehouse and stole one armored Humvee, two cloth-door Humvees, eight machine gun vehicle mounts, seven freestanding machine gun tripods, 40 pairs of binoculars, 18 bayonets, and medical equipment. The suspects also attempted to break into uniform storage but were unsuccessful.

This incident is the fourth theft of Humvees from military sites in California within the last five years. Previous thefts include one from the California National Guard in Bell in 2021 and another from the Santa Rosa National Guard Armory in 2023.

The Tustin Police Department is investigating the theft and has released details of the stolen items to the public, urging anyone with information to contact them. The Army confirmed that no weapons or ammunition were stolen, aside from the listed items. Law enforcement agencies are working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible and recover the stolen equipment.
