These German Shepherd/Border Collie cuties are looking for their forever homes! They're just under 4 months old (born August 6), up to date on appropriate vaccinations for their age, and are ready to love you! These sweet boys were raised outside so they're still figuring things out. They will be at the Honeybee Festival at 5757 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012 tomorrow from 9am until 3pm. They will come with a vaccination and neuter plan at no cost to their adopter!

Hi!🐶 My name is Rocky. I’m only 3 years old and my owner dropped me off at the shelter. I don’t know why I’m here because my previous people had me since I was a puppy. I’m scared and need help. You see…I only have until Monday 10/18 to live. If I don’t find a home, the shelter will kill me. I can’t imagine that this may be the way things end for me. Will you help me live? This rescue will provide me with everything I need to be comfortable, medically taken care of, and training too. You just need to give me a safe home to relax in and feel my best! This little girl with the tippy taps is Noelle. Noelle is a 2-year-old, spayed female who has been bounced around a lot. Noelle is shy and takes time to trust. She isn't a cuddler and prefers to walk instead of being carried.

Noelle is housebroken and crate trained. She needs a home with another dog and may do well in a home with cats too. Our boy Luca still desperately needs a foster home! His board and train will be over in a couple weeks and we still have no one interested in fostering him.

Luca is looking for a home where he will be the only pet. He needs structure in his life, an experienced handler, and a home with no kids under 16. Our handsome gentleman, Moose, is in need of a new foster (or an adopter!) due to no fault of his own. Moose is housebroken, crate trained, and does very well on a leash. He does need to be your one-and-only though.

This 6-year-old gent is neutered and weighs about 70lbs. He is currently located in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Our boy “Pongo” is looking for a MEDICAL FOSTER, to help with his rehabilitation! This poor guy has not been well-cared for and it shows. We anticipate some major orthopedic surgical treatments to be upcoming. However, first we need to get Pongo off of death-row at the county shelter (PACC), where his 🆘deadline date is SATURDAY 9/18🆘

Slater has been a volunteer favorite, and after visiting him today personally, I can 💯 % agree! He is affectionate, playful, engaging and sweet. We need fosters!!

Shelters are filling up fast of dogs of all kinds and we’d love to help them out but need fosters in order to do so.

Would you like to foster a behavior dog? Usually behavior dogs need homes without young children and no other pets. If that’s you then you might be perfect to foster a behavior dog.

Have kids or other pets? Than maybe a medical dog is a better fit. We are looking to pull some senior dogs, dogs with medical issues, and momma dogs with puppies. If you foster a mom and her pups and decide you want to adopt a puppy then you get first dibs on which pup you adopt!

A few days ago we welcomed this bonded pair into the rescue.

Pumpkin and Izzy were owner surrenders through no fault of their own and are now looking for a new retirement home.

We have a couple conflicting reports on their age and still need to get them into our vet to be evaluated but they are probably between 6-8 years old. Both boys are neutered and dog friendly as well as walk on a leash nicely.

These two are definitely bonded and we will not separate them. Izzy has some anxiety and Pumpkin helps ease that anxiety.

What do we have here?! We never have little dogs available for adoption/foster.

Meet Chica and Cha Cha. These two 5-year-olds are in need of a foster or foster-to-adopt home. These girls don’t have a ton of life experience and are a little shy so we think a quiet home without young children would be best. Both are dog-friendly, however.

Chica and Cha Cha are UTD on their shots and are potty pad trained. We are still actively learning about them but one thing we do know for sure is that they really need a special new home.

Yesterday we welcomed Cayo into the rescue as an owner surrender and today we welcomed Chewy off the e-list at MCACC!

Both boys have gone to/are going to the vet to get checked out.

We are desperately in neeed of fosters. Moose needs a foster in the Phoenix area so he can keep working with his trainer. We aren’t going to be that specific for Carmella (who’s currently in Phoenix) and Chico (currently in Tucson). We just want to see these pups in a home.

Carmella is a lovely young lady who has allergies and they are easier to keep under control in a home. She has potential to live with other dogs.

Chico is a young guy and has puppy energy. He also has potential to live with other dogs.

Moose is an older guy who would do best as your one and only.

"Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you?/ We got some work to do now." While we don't know where the famous Scooby Doo is we do know that our Scooby is in training in Tucson waiting for you to take him home.

Scooby has the same goofy personality as the famous dog he shares a name with. Scoobs is housebroken, crate trained, and ready to go on some adventures.

Scooby has done well with other dogs, both big and small. He would do best in an adult-only home as well since he is protective of his person against other people which is being addressed with his training.

This adorable little girl is Bella. Bella is five years old, spayed, UTD on all vaccinations and located in Tucson, AZ. Unfortunately, Bella's earlier life was filled with instability. She was living with a very loving, but homeless woman and two other dogs, both of whom had been Bella's puppies. One early morning, while defending their campsite, from a person approaching, the person shot all three dogs, two of whom he stated bit him. One of the dogs died, however, Bella and her son survived. Since Lucy's Hope pulled Bella from PACC, she has been living with a short term foster, who describes her as a happy, friendly, loving girl. On a recent vet visit, the staff were just all in love with her. She would probably do well in a family with older, respectful kids. While she has lived with dogs her whole life, she'd probably most enjoy a friendly male dog or to have you all to herself. Bella has an extremely sunny disposition and would love to meet a long term foster or foster to adopt. 7 month old, 57lb James is looking for a new home. His owner is moving and unfortunately has not been able to find a place where she can keep him. James is UTD on vax, and microchipped, but still needs to be neutered (the rescue will cover this).

He does well with other dogs, cats are unknown, and while he hasn’t been around kids his person thinks he would probably do best with older kids.

James knows basic commands, is housebroken, and walks well on a leash. His owner describes him as being sweet and goofy.

Moose hasn’t received any applications since we pulled him off the e-list. Does no one want to foster this handsome gentleman?

Moose will be 7 in just under 6 months and he deserves to live out those sweet senior years in a loving home where he can be doted on. This neutered male weighs in at about 73lbs and has been great with people. Moose has also come far in a short period of time with his dog reactivity, although we still recommend that he be the only pet. An adult only home or with older kids is probably best for Moose too. While we don’t really have any notes on how Moose was in the home we do know that he learned many commands while at the shelter. His shelter friends taught him to sit, look, place, up up, shake, let’s go, through, yes, and wait at the gate.

EUTHANASIA deadline🆘🆘🆘 this FRIDAY!!!
Chico needs a lifeline! We want to save this sweet boy but need a foster in order to do so and we are running out of time, his deadline is tomorrow!!

Chico is only a baby (1-year-old) and still has a lot to learn. He does have some basic obedience under his belt already. After getting to know him, Chico’s volunteer friends have reported him to be a sweet guy. At Chico’s evaluation yesterday he scored high marks and the trainer remarked that he expects Chico to make quick progress with an experienced foster.

Chico is neutered and UTD on his vaccinations. All supplies for him (food, crate, leash, etc) will be covered by Lucy’s Hope.

Biscuit is settling in nicely with his great foster dog-mom! He is affectionate with her, perfectly kennel trained, and just a happy guy! We are so pleased that he got his well-deserved second chance. We are grateful to his foster for stepping up to save his life.

Lucy’s Hope Sanctuary & Rescue will continue to focus on saving, rehabilitation and forever homes for these innocent high-risk dogs. We will need many more kind people with experience and a love for dogs, to foster/adopt. As always, donations are also greatly appreciated.

“Sayonara PACC, this is my freedom ride!” - Biscuit

That’s right, 4 days ago Biscuit walked out of the shelter and joined the Lucy’s Hope family. It took us a while but after much networking and all of you sharing him, we finally found a suitable foster for Biscuit.

Biscuit is going to take some time to decompress in his foster home while they get to know each other and then start working with a trainer to learn how to best manage Biscuit’s stranger danger and any offer undesirable behavior that shows up.

We are happy to have you Biscuit and can’t wait to get to know you better! Special thanks to all of his PACC advocates and to everyone who shared his many posts.

At Lucy’s Hope Sanctuary & Rescue we are not just committed to rescuing but to ensuring quality of life for the dogs we save. Our mission is to give a second chance at a new start to animals who are most vulnerable and in need of love and hope.

We are committed to achieving our mission by:

- Saving lives of vulnerable groups of dogs, such as behavior, medical, senior, and hospice
- Transparency in our operations, fundraising, successes and challenges
- Advocacy for high-risk & euthanasia dogs
- Rehabilitation of the sick and neglected
- Training to avoid reoffending and increase successful transition into forever homes

In order to reach as many dogs as possible, our goal is to create a large network of fosters. Such a network will allow us to move quickly to pull and place various high-risk dogs in safe foster homes, so we can begin the process of rehabilitation, training and ultimately adoption into forever homes. In the near future, we have plans to build a large facility on 20 acres in Marana, Arizona that will mean even more dogs will get a second chance at a new START.

We are very excited to try something different, and with your help we will all work our tails off to make this dream a reality!

Today we welcome Boomer (brother to Zeus) into the Lucy’s Hope family! Boomer marks our fifth STR direct pull (TicTac was technically returned to his owners with us sponsoring his training and care).

Boomer is going to a foster home with a yellow lab foster sister and people who will dote over him until he finds his furever home.

I would like to introduce you to Poppie. Poppie is currently located at Pima Animal Care Center but we would like to get her into our rescue.

At 2-years-old, this 42-54lb girl has already been through a lot. She was found on the side of the road after being hit by a car. After being found she was taken to VCA animal hospital where she was stabilized before being transferred to PACC.

This little girl is a fighter though and has such a strong will to live. While she now requires a cart to get around easily and needs some help to express her bladder she is still a happy girl. Volunteers who have worked with Poppie have noted her to be very loving. She easily allows them to put her in her cart to go for walks and they report that it is easy to express her bladder.

Lucky us, we do have some history on Poppie. Poppie has lived with other dogs, cats, and kids as young as 2 months old and is reported to have done well with them.
