This is well worth a listen!

Former NFL quarterback Alex Smith almost died after a particularly rough tackle snapped his leg in 2018 -- yet he was back on the field just two years later. In this inspiring talk, he shares his hard-won insights on overcoming fear, self-doubt and anxiety that could help anyone endure life's challe...

Today is su***de prevention day. The leading cause of su***de is undiagnosed and untreated mental health disorders. Amongst HCPs, the stigma and stress of having a mental health condition is often the barrier that prevents professionals from seeking help. As well as the harassment that may be faced once help is received. Let us end that cycle!

If you're interested in further reading and research, I've attached links to articles that discuss su***de rates amongst HCPs and exercise benefits to mental health. Have a look!

Imposter Syndrome is described as perpetual feelings of inadequacy (Atherly & Meeuwissen, 2020)

The article cited in this post about imposter syndrome highlight the cost of poor support of medical professionals such as increased apathy towards patients, increase in medical error and decrease in performance.

"in an unsupportive culture, imposter syndrome can be associated with constructs related to mental health problems, including pervasive self-doubt, anxiety, burnout, depression and su***de"

I've provided a link below, have a little look!

Please welcome our very first episode, I've been brewing this little concoction for a while, practitioner mental health is a HUGE subject of interest of mine and through this podcast, I'd like to raise awareness and hopefully, squash those su***de statistics amongst practitioners! It's a team effort and I couldn't do it without my support network. Thank you Dave James for being part of the team and being awesome!
