I thought I would re-introduce myself, since so much has changed for me in the last year & there are some new faces here! 👋🏼
This time last year I was still working a travel nurse position & after a miscarriage & realizing I was completely burnt out, I decided it was time to take a step away.
Over the last 2 years I’ve learned so much about true health & wellness, which was something that also made me realize nursing no longer aligned with me or my lifestyle.
My life has changed so much over the last year. Finding out I was pregnant, my husband & I starting our own businesses, getting engaged (he even had the ring before we found out about Ava 😂), & getting married all within 6 months! Then having our baby girl this year. Truly so many blessings 🙏🏼
I am currently trying to find my groove as a new mama & while it has it’s challenges, it is truly such a beautiful journey and I love it! It amazes me how much I have changed in just the last few months. I also enjoy making anything sourdough, my sauna & other wellness tools, learning anything holistic health related, slow mornings, being present with my baby girl, Sunday family time, daily movement, sunshine, the outdoors in general, but especially the mountains & the water!
I hope you enjoy following along with me on this journey 🫶🏼
My whole world 🥹😍What I’ve prayed my whole life for ❤️
Thank you for capturing these beautiful moments with our little family!
I am so lucky to be your mama and it is everything I’ve wanted and more. You and daddy are the two things I love most in this world ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! 💐
Just a few from today 🚶🏻♀️🌸😴🤱🏻🥘💻
Happy Easter from the Walkers! Featuring our sweet little chicky! 🩷🐣
It’s been a while…
These first 2 weeks with Ava have been probably the most amazing and stressful of my entire life. I never imagined having such a difficult time in the newborn stage. I always thought that would be my favorite and that labor would be the worst part. I would take my 22 hour labor any day over the last 2 weeks.
She latched right away when she was born. That first night was so amazing, I was on such a high, and even the next day. Then I noticed she had jaundice and she was also screaming so often and my milk hadn’t come in, so we started supplementing with some donor milk (from an amazing friend who I’m not sure I could have gotten through this without her reassurance and breastmilk 😉) and after having a bottle, Ava refused to latch. I was devastated. I tried every day with her, and she would just fight me. My midwife and lactation consultant both told me I was doing everything right, but that this little girl was extremely stubborn. So I pumped every 2 hours and feed her every 2-3 hours overnight, sobbing the entire time, after she would continually refuse to go to the breast. I tried using a supplemental nursing system, cup feeding, and then a ni**le shield.
I was an emotional wreck, and truly thought I was going to have PPD. I don’t think I have ever cried as much in my life as Ava’s first week and a half of life. I think being a nurse has made it so much harder as well. I feel like I can’t just see things as a mom and see every little thing as a possible bad thing! Being sleep deprived also doesn’t help.
But after working with her for 2 days with the nursing shield, she FINALLY latched again! I had to use the shield for maybe 2-3 days and then she went completely back to breast! After 10 LONG days and nights of not giving up!!
I am so thankful to those who showed up for us in so many ways, without asking to meet Ava right away and accepting the space we needed. I am also so thankful to my mom for coming and staying with us this week to help, I truly don’t know what I’d do without her! I finally feel like things are starting to get better every day🙏🏼
Someone finally decided she was ready to grace us with her presence!!👶🏻
🎀 Ava Marie Walker born March 14, 2024 @ 6:20 pm. 8 lbs, 15 oz, (👀)21 inches long.
After 22 hours of labor, a natural (non medicated) home birth, our little girl finally came and she and mom are doing great! And dad is too after some sleep 😉
We will probably not be on our phones much these next few days and just enjoying and getting used to being a family of 3. We are so happy our baby girl is finally here and never knew we could be so in love! 🩷
✨Officially 40 weeks today✨
These last couple of weeks have been ROUGH! Getting whatever URI I had 2 weeks ago and then finally feeling better after 1.5 weeks, and then a couple days later finding out I now have a sinus infection!
It’s gonna sound crazy, but I am so THANKFUL that’s all it is! The last couple of days I had a headache and I was so worried I was going to end up with preeclampsia, but I monitored my blood pressure and didn’t have any other signs or symptoms of Pre-E so talked with my midwife about it and she said it was most likely a sinus infection. So the last few days were rough because doing anything was miserable, even going outside for walks didn’t help with the headaches and FINALLY today the headaches are MUCH better. I woke up early for the fridge to get delivered, ate breakfast and went back to bed until about 1. Did some steaming with mint and eucalyptus (antibacterial) essential oils, last night and this afternoon and had a bunch of snot 🦠 come out and the pressure in my head is 75-80% better today! I have been keeping up with lots of fluids, especially my molecular hydrogen water to flush it all out and using my red light! I was really sad about going back to bed because the sun was out this morning, but I knew I needed that rest because I could barely sit up to eat my breakfast.
It blows my mind that I have been sooo healthy and without any sickness for the last year and then got super sick a couple weeks ago and now a sinus infection. But again, I am super thankful that it’s all happening now and my body is going through this BEFORE Ava comes!! Either way, so glad I have been healthy up till now and that today I really am feeling better!
On that note, I really do wonder when miss Ava will decide to come, because so far there are zero signs she plans on coming any time soon, but I guess we will see 😊 I just can’t wait for the moment I get to hold her in my arms!! 💕
When do you think Ava Marie will decide to come? Vote below 👇🏼
Will miss Ava come this week?? Her due date is the 6th, but I have a feeling she’s not going to come until after 👶🏻🎀
One of my favorite places to sit and soak up some ☀️ I love coming to this spot because I can walk here and it’s quiet and peaceful and the sound of the water makes me so relaxed! I can’t wait to take baby girl here soon! 😍

Homemade mayonnaise recipe
I stole my friend’s recipe, but she doesn’t add lemon so that’s the only change I made!
1 cup of oil (I used avocado)
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar (I used white)
Juice from 1/2 lemon
Combine all ingredients with oil being last and blend with emulsion blender. I had to do this twice, because I had never used an emulsion blender before and went up and down instead of starting from the bottom and allowing it to thicken as you slowly turn the blender or jar until you get to the top and it’s completely thick. 😂 so don’t make my mistake.

Homemade Hummus Recipe
Seriously so easy and the best flavor and it doesn't have any inflammatory oils like sunflower or canola oil in it! Brendan and I ate half the container at lunch yesterday!
-1 can garbanzo beans 🫘 (rinsed and drained)
- juice from 2 lemons
- 2 cloves or garlic
- 3 T tahini
- 2 T olive oil (you could also use avocado oil)
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- salt & pepper to taste (I used about 1 tsp salt)
- 1-2 T water
Add all ingredients to a blender. I added about 2 T of water for a smooth and creamy texture. You can also add toppings afterwards if you prefer. I added olive oil and cayenne pepper.

Idk about you, but I’m feelin’ 32 (weeks pregnant)🤰🏻
This may cause some controversy, but I can’t stand Taylor Swift or her music 😂 but the reference just seemed fitting 🤷🏻♀️
I can’t believe there are only 8 weeks left until we get to meet our sweet babe! 🥹 then at the same time I feel completely unprepared for it! With the wedding I put off all the birth videos I was going to watch, as well as setting up her nursery and anything baby related to focus and enjoy that time.
Needless to say, I am already wanting to nest and not leave the house. I ended up picking up a couple extra shifts at my nursing job and already regret it 😂 I am in purge mode and am thankful for the days I’m not having to go to work and can focus on getting things ready for her and going out for maternity leave.
We have her 32 week appt today, my chiropractor appt, and I am planning on organizing the things people have given us for her already! In the next couple weeks, I want to start making freezer meals and preparing for postpartum, as well as watching the classes I signed up for a couple months ago! My goal is to have everything set by 36-37 weeks, so I can truly rest and prepare for birth and afterwards.
Getting enough protein and nutrition throughout the day doesn’t have to be complicated! This is 130g of protein total and super doable. I try to get between 115-150/day.
This is based off what I ate in a day yesterday. Typically I will do a smoothie for breakfast on the days that I go to work because it’s quick and easy, but still has 30g of protein!
Breakfast (49g protein)
3 eggs, 1/2 c cottage cheese, 1 oz Kerrygold cheddar cheese, 2 slices uncured bacon, spinach, and mixed fruit. Sourdough bread with Kerrygold butter. Coffee with homemade creamer with collagen (about 7 g protein)
Lunch smoothie (30g protein)
8 oz whole milk, Flavcity Vanilla protein powder, strawberries, and blueberries
Snack
Chomps beef stick (9g protein)
Pumpkin seeds (8g protein)
Citrus fruit (yesterday was a grapefruit, typically I’ll have one with breakfast or a protein)
Dinner (34g protein)
3 oz chicken, rice cooked in chicken broth, Broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots with some cooconut aminos on top
[protein, fats, carbs, nourishing foods, pregnancy, healthy eating habits, balanced nutrition]
Swipe to see who’s belly is growing with mine 😜
Life has been so crazy lately with the wedding being in 20 DAYS and just life in general! It blows my mind that it’s almost here already and then I’m going to have to birth a little human shortly after! I can’t believe I will be 28 weeks already on Wednesday! 🤰🏻
There is no one else I would rather do life with, even if it has definitely not been easy lately. I’m so thankful to have someone who loves me and treats me well and is willing to work through anything that comes our way, as well as grow together (literally and figuratively 😂😘) I can’t wait to see you become a dad to our little Ava, you are going to be the best! These are the days I’ve always prayed for ♥️
This water ionizer has been the best investment and wellness tool I have purchased thus far!
>>I truly don’t know what I would do without my water ionizer! I use it daily for several different things. I drink the 9.5 pH, use the 2.5 pH to cleanse and disinfect my home, I use the 11.5 pH and 2.5 pH to cleanse and disinfect my produce and I use the 6.0 pH to cleanse my face in the morning! I also use the 11.5 pH for my laundry!
>>These slides only scratch the surface of the different types of water and the ionizer itself. If you are interested in learning more about the ionizer or the different uses for each type of water produced by it, comment “💧” below.

Red Light Therapy
🚨RLT can help with
💡inflammation
💡pain
💡muscle repair-recovery
💡thyroid
💡circadian rhythm (I have been using it to help with my sleep, and because of the lack of sun we have had!)
💡decrease stress
💡skin-supports collagen production, elasticity, and appearance (anti-aging, can be used in place of Botox)
💡wound healing
✨One of my favorite health and wellness tools! The Lumebox is my favorite because it has both red light and NIR (near infrared) and low EMF. It is also portable and comes with a travel case to easily bring anywhere.
✨Red light is typically used for surface level things such as skin and wound healing, and can help with mood and energy.
✨NIR (Near Infrared) is typically used to target deeper for tissues, joint, muscles, and tendons.
✨I typically always use both! In the morning I generally just use the red light, but if I am sore or want to target a specific area that is sore or injured, I will use both the red light and NIR. I have been using it the last couple mornings and before I go to bed, and it has helped me sleep better. I’ve also been loving it, because we haven’t had sun ☀️ in what feels like forever.
✨In August, Brendan ended up ripping one of his fingernails completely off by a board at work. 😬😬😬 it was not pretty. I made him use the lumebox daily (sometimes he would listen to me and use it two or three times) and it definitely healed quicker than either of us anticipated. The first two pictures were the day he ripped it off and then next photo was the next day. I was really bad at taking progress pictures, but it healed to where he didn’t have to wrap it for work and it was healed within a month.

Thankful to have a warm, cozy space to read, drink my coffee/cocoa/tea, do my online work, or just relax. 🎄
Thankful for my two best friends who threw my bridal shower today and for those who showed up and showered me with their love! ♥️
Soooo, I realized today, Ava is 26 weeks today, not Monday. 😂 I can’t believe there are only 14 weeks left until we meet our sweet little girl!! I am so thankful to still be feeling so great during this pregnancy (except for Sunday, but I really hadn’t drank any water in the morning and didn’t eat a full breakfast).
Monday I was feeling what I’m pretty sure were hiccups! 😂it’s so funny to me and so frickin cool at the same time!
She is usually so active and moving around, until Daddy wants to feel her. I do have an anterior placenta so I’m sure that has something to do with not feeling her as much on the outside yet, even though it feels like she’s having a full on dance party from the inside 💃🏻
For her sonogram on Monday (which I thought was 26 weeks), she was lying sideways and then as soon as the tech told me I could use the bathroom, she was dancing all over. Good thing they were finally able to see everything they needed to! Now the next time we will see her, it will be in person 😍
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is next, our wedding right before New Years and then giving birth is shortly after all that! 😬 We can’t wait to meet you baby girl! 👶🏻♥️
Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃 Thankful for so much this year, but especially thankful for my two turkeys 🫶🏼♥️
25 weeks with this lil honey tomorrow ♥️

Birthing ball benefits👇🏼🤰🏻
-can be used at any stage of pregnancy, during labor, and postpartum
-can help keep the pelvis and hips flexible during pregnancy
-can help open the pelvis during pregnancy and provide various positions of comfort
-can improve posture
-can relieve pressure
-can decrease aches and pains
-can increase mobility
-can reduce the risk of episiotomy
There are a variety of exercises you can do with a birthing ball during pregnancy. You can practice gentle bouncing on it, rocking back and forth or moving your hips side to side, wall ball squats, as well as pelvic floor exercises and others.
The last week or so, I’ve felt my lower back and pelvis start to have some tension and feel stiff. I started going to my chiropractor who does the Webster technique and I have started using my birthing ball and found it helps relieve almost all that tension! I am now constantly sitting or bouncing on my birthing ball and I love it. 😂
*make sure to look at the preferred size for your height when getting a ball and always consult with your doctor before starting something new.

Time truly does go by so quickly, no matter what you do to try and slow it down. You can’t. Which is why it is so important for me to be a present mama, who is able to experience these fleeting moments. Some days I stop what I’m doing when she’s laughing or being super chatty and I just play with her, because someday she won’t want to play anymore. Some days I hold her for her naps, because I know eventually she won’t sleep in my arms anymore. Some days I carry her instead of using the stroller, because one day she’ll want to walk and won’t want me to hold her. I will never get this time back with her, so I try to cherish every moment with this girl, even on the longer days. 🤍
My medical grade, in-home water ionizer. I’m not sure what I did or how I lived without this beautiful machine. It is NOT a filter, it does have a very basic filter inside, but recommended to get a pre-filter to filter contaminants. The water goes through the filter and then through the 8 platinum and titanium dipped plates that use electrolysis to produce molecular hydrogen, making the water hydrogen-rich and antioxidant-rich! Molecular hydrogen attaches to free radicals in the body and promotes anti-aging that is caused by oxidative stress. It produces 7 different levels of pH water 👇🏼 💧 2.5 pH aka hypochlorous acid 💧 6.0 pH aka beauty water 💧 7.0 pH neutral water 💧 8-9.5 pH aka Hydrogen water 💧 11.5 pH aka strong alkaline water 2.5-a replacement for bleach, yes it’s that powerful! Can clean, disinfect, sanitize, soak produce to remove any pathogens 🦠 wound healing, can gargle with for sore throat. 6.0-closest to rain water, great for watering plants, cleaning glass, facial toner/cleanser, fabric softener replacement for laundry 7-neutral pH, just plain filtered drinking water with no special properties, can use for babies if giving formula, take with meds. 8-9.5-molecular hydrogen rich water! You can cook with to intensify the flavor, make coffee/tea with, drink to be ultra hydrated! 11.5-removes oils and pesticides from produce, strong degreaser (stovetop, pots and pans), laundry detergent replacement, stain remover, headache relief. The levels of pH have over 68 different uses! Comment “💧” and I’ll send you the link to receive more info!

Featuring Grammy Deb and her 🐥🦆🪿 🪴 I have seen holistic medicine help more people than conventional medicine, because it takes the whole person, body, mind, and spirit into consideration. It offers alternatives to modern medicine and doesn’t mask the symptoms with a medication (which often requires another medication for the side effects of that medication) or label something as “normal” because half the population suffers from it. Instead of teaching people about lifestyle changes and health tools for every day life and ways to prevent disease, it’s much “easier” to prescribe a medication or surgery to “fix” the problem (or to keep people sick 🙃) We, as a country are terrible at preventing disease, and so quick to offer drug after drug to fix it 🥴 Let’s start looking at the root cause for healing and the whole picture, not just putting bandaids on the issue. 💧QUALITY water is KEYYYYY! Filtered water is a must (bonus if it’s filtered molecular hydrogen water)! I don’t mean bottled water. Research shows bottled water is essentially tap water with the addition of microplastics because it’s been sitting in the sun or on a shelf for who knows how long! If you are just drinking gallons of water and it’s not filtered, you’re hurting yourself more than helping. Minerals are crucial to add to your water. Adding electrolytes to your water, especially when exercising, when it’s hot, or when the body is going through stress, is so much more effective than drinking plain water. ☀️”Make sure you wear sunglasses and sunscreen! Don’t expose your skin to the sun, you’ll get cancer!” 🫠 You don’t want to get burnt, but plastering toxic sunscreen on your body and having it absorb into your skin is just as bad if not worse than letting it burn. Sun doesn’t cause cancer, but the 💩 you put on your skin does or a lack of sun! So, try to get a good mineral sunscreen without all the additives and practice safe su
Featuring my husbands beautiful face 😂 🥩 Quality sourced red meat such as grass-fed/finished beef is actually amazing for you. It is full of vitamins and minerals that help nourish the body and it is actually beneficial in DECREASING heart disease, DM2, and cancer. 🍳 Organic pasture raised eggs are a nutritional powerhouse! They are an excellent source of choline, folate, vitamins A, D, E, K and B12, omega-3 fatty acids. They can also help decrease heart disease. 🧂 Salt (non iodized) is an ESSENTIAL mineral for hydration! All electrolytes have salt in them. Quality salt is 🔑 I love Redmond salt! 💉 Childhood V’s…not even going to go into this, but there is a plethora of information that actually contraindicates them. Do your own research…and I would also recommend reading the insert (not the information sheet) which discloses the actual ingredients in the 💉Fun fact: pediatricians are very quick to kick you out of their practice if you don’t get your child’s v’s, sometimes even if you don’t follow the recommended schedule…they also lose money by not having a certain % of their patients fully 💉🤔 💊 Tylenol has a time and place for sure, but I have seen it given for everything, esp low grade fevers or fussiness from teething or after a 💉🥴 Tylenol depletes the body of glutathione! Glutathione is crucial in helping our immune system function by protecting cells and helping lymphocytes function! It also aids in detoxification of heavy metals (💉are FULL of these!) protects cells from free radical damage and helps flush out the liver of harmful toxins. It is better to let the body have a fever rather than suppressing it. This is the body’s natural way of detoxing or ridding the body of an illness. What have you had to unlearn? 6 weeks and you’re back to normal, right?…9 weeks PP and here are my thoughts 💭 🤔 society has us ready to go back to work after 6 weeks, back to normal activities, and acting like we didn’t just go through a major life event! Every woman’s recovery is different, just as every pregnancy and labor are different. 🌸it can take up to 6 months for a new mom to find a routine and feel comfortable in her new role 🌻some women may only bleed 10 days after birth, some 6-8 weeks after. Some women may get their period back as early as 4 weeks PP and as late as a year or more 🌷Some women are in pain for months after giving birth and can take up to a year to fully heal (or longer) 🌼it can take 3-6 months for pre pregnancy hormones to return, but oftentimes longer (sometimes up to 2 years) 🌹breastfeeding does not 🟰 weight loss 🪻sometimes it can feel very isolating 🌺your true friends/family will come out and they will be your people I just assumed I’d transition right into motherhood. I personally still don’t feel like I have a groove yet. Some days are better than others, but some days I still get absolutely nothing done and that’s okay, but it does make feel like I’m doing something wrong or that I’ll never figure it out sometimes 🩸 I bled right up to 6 weeks and I just got my period back yesterday 😭 ❤️🩹 I was sore maybe the first 48 hours after giving birth, but healed fairly quickly, minus some neck and back pain that came shortly after. 😢 I struggle with how my body looks right now. I honestly thought I would “snap back” much quicker, but I haven’t. I thought because I’m exclusively breastfeeding I would lose the weight quicker. If anything, my body is holding on to weight. Some days I wonder if I will ever like my new body, even after I lose weight, because I know certain aspects will never be the same Remember to have patience in this season mama, your body did an amazing thing and needs time
What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance? I’d tell her a lot, but especially ⬇️ 1. The right one really will come when you least expect it, so don’t waste your time chasing one 2. You will become a wife and mother and it’s going to be all you’ve wanted and more, just later than you wanted, which turns out to be for the best 3. Read and understand ingredient labels, don’t follow fad diets and don’t over exercise. Learn to listen to your body 4. Learn more about holistic approaches to health 5. Don’t worry so much about things you can’t change, focus on the things you can…they ALWAYS sort themselves out 6. Be patient…with yourself and with life. God has a plan and it’s not always in your timeline 7. Understand that each season in life has its own hardships and you will get through each one 8. Each season in life also has its own beautiful moments, cherish them 9. Don’t worry what others think about you, it truly DOES NOT matter. Most people you are worried about, won’t even be in your life a few years from now 10. Don’t spend your days wishing for the next season, or the next big thing. Live in the moment because time really does fly 11. Have a relationship with God, and prioritize prayer and gratitude 12. If you really want something, don’t put it off. Don’t wait to make a change in your life, even if it scares you. 13. If something is no longer serving you, don’t stay stuck (people, job, anything) 🤍Just to name a few 🤍
Real talk 🗣️ 🤪 My house might be a mess most days now. With dishes piled high, laundry to be done, rooms to be cleaned. It may take me an entire day to do something that once took 30 minutes to do. I’m at not get dressed till noon or at all some days. It may take me an entire day to create a reel or a post. I may not get to finish my “to do” list I created for the day. 👶🏻 But I do get to be present with my baby girl and these are the days I’ve waited so long for! The tasks will always need to be done, but they can wait. For the moments I spend with her and my husband, are the most important to me. I’ve always been told to cherish them because they go by too fast, so I am doing just that. ❤️ They are still going too fast, but I don’t have to worry about going back to a job where I’ll miss out on time with them even more! I don’t have to hand her over to be taken care of by someone else. I get to be a present wife and mama which is what I’ve always wanted. 💻 Comment or DM “FREEDOM” to learn more about how I make this my reality.

REMINDER⤵️🏃🏻♀️We live in a world where it is normal to go go go all the time and not take the time we need for ourselves. To truly practice self care every day. 🧘🏻♀️Try to block out at least 30 mins a day just for yourself. I promise you, it will change your life.✨The last couple of weeks I started dry brushing and using my gua sha and roller again (I used to do it daily before my sauna and then when I got pregnant I somehow stopped it all) but holy 💩 It’s made such a difference. It’s like a spa treatment every day, especially using the hot wash cloth on my face afterwards! 🧖♀️ 🌱So do the little things that help refresh and restore you, every day…not just once a week or once a month. And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, and laid in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army, praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest; and on earth peace to men of good will. ~Luke 2:10-14
No, but for real 😳 🕰️ Time is flyinggg!! 28 weeks today!! 🤰🏻 Getting married in 17 days! ⛪️ New Year’s right after. 🎊 By then it will only be about 2 months until our sweet little Ava is here!!! 👶🏻 I can’t lie and say I’m not scared of giving birth. It’s always been something I’ve thought about and been scared about and the media and people do make it seem like it’s the worst thing in the world, so it hard to not see it that way. I do think mindset is everything, even with giving birth and I am actively working on my mindset daily for my business, my own personal growth, and now while I am thinking about preparing to give birth! 🤰🏻 I also believe having a husband who is very loving and supportive, is also going to help tremendously!Super thankful I am still feeling great and keeping up with my daily walks or movement. Getting enough protein daily (I like to get between 115-150g). Trying to eat more red meat (grass fed beef or bison) to ensure my iron levels are within normal range. Staying hydrated with my molecular hydrogen water (adding pickleball electrolytes daily). Drinking a cup of RRL tea. Started seeing my chiropractor who does the Webster technique about a month ago, just to keep everything aligned. Using my birthing ball at least 3-4 times a week. Using my Lumebox RLT and magnesium lotion for better sleep. Doing all the things to keep this pregnancy as “feel good” and healthy as I can! We truly can’t wait to meet our sweet girl! 💞#28weekspregnant #pregnancy #healthychoices #lifestyle #babygirl #Avamarie #wedding #lifechanges #lifeevents
Thankful to have a warm, cozy space to read, drink my coffee/cocoa/tea, do my online work, or just relax. 🎄
Simple things I’ve learned to love and that have helped me love myself more in the last year! 🫶🏼📖Journaling-writing about the things that are difficult or stressing me out along with the positive things has really helped me get the negative off my chest and be able to focus on the good.🙏🏼Gratitude-writing down the good things that happen or the things I am thankful every day, has helped me realize how much positive I have in my life and how much I have going for me.📚Reading-at least 10 pages, 4-5 days a week. I have never been a big reader, but I am really starting to look forward to my reading time.🧖♀️🥒Skin care-over the last year especially I have realized the importance of having a skin care routine and my skin has never looked or felt better. I never used to take care of my skin and used several products that probably destroyed my skin. I also only use non-toxic skin products now and this has been a game changer!! I look forward to my weekly facials and my morning and evening skin care routines. Beauty Counter is amazing!💁🏻♀️Doing my own thing-not constantly having to go do something with someone else and enjoying time with myself and learning the things that truly make me happy: hiking, being outside, learning new skills, new ways of improving myself, trying new recipes, etc.🏡Staying home-by this I mean not choosing to spend every moment of free time I have going out and doing something when I can enjoy a slow day or night here or there. I used to be the person that would have to go go go and would always have something lined up to do. Now, I love my slow mornings at home or my early evenings in. My favorite date night is making dinner together, relaxing, and talking about our goals and the wonderful things that are happening in our lives right now and all that we have to look forward to![journaling, gratitude, home, being present, slow life, reading, self-love, self-improvement, skin care, routines, happiness, t
This is the first time in 6 years I will actually have the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) off. Brendan and I have never spent the holidays together.I haven’t looked forward to the holiday season in a longgggg time, or even decorated for the holidays! It used to be my favorite time of year growing up. I loved Thanksgiving and Christmas because we were typically always together as a family. Around the time I graduated high school, everyone in my family had moved away or were doing their own thing. I think that was really hard for me and I didn’t realize it at the time. After becoming a nurse, I always had crappy schedules around the holidays and I slowly stopped looking forward to them. I always had good friends who were like family to me, who made the holidays special for me and I am truly grateful for that, but it wasn’t the same.I always felt so alone, even if I was with my close friends and I have cried every Thanksgiving and Christmas Day for as long as I can remember. Sometimes just thinking about the holidays. One of the only things that would get me through is knowing if I kept praying for it, eventually I would have my own family and it wouldn’t be so sad. I would imagine how the holidays would look with my own family and I couldn’t wait to be able to create new traditions and memories with them. This year my prayers are finally being answered. Brendan and I are able to spend the holidays together, and have our own amazing little present arriving in March. I am so excited for Thanksgiving (going home to spend with my family for the first time in a very long time), for the snow, Christmas music, decorating, driving around looking at Christmas lights, creating new traditions with Brendan and our little family, and just everything! I can’t believe I will be 31 weeks pregnant and getting married during the Christmas season. I can’t even explain how much joy this brings me and how long I have waited and prayed for this time in my life to come.
