Many long-standing centre right voters are still reeling from the sudden announcement from Kevin Falcon that he was ending the BC United campaign and lending his support to the BC Conservatives. Former BC Liberal MLA Sheila Orr says Falcon did the right thing to avoid splitting the vote but also believes the party name change ruined it’s prospects. Orr says the Conservatives are now in the lead.

In light of recent events, it's important to address community concerns transparently. Mayor Alto has clarified that she was not involved in the suspension of a firefighter who penned an open letter to the Premier regarding a local addiction service center. This situation underscores the delicate balance between public service and personal expression.
Furthermore, the push for larger building projects has sparked a conversation about preserving our city's heritage. Former Councillor Pam Madoff cautions against the loss of historical sites in pursuit of increased density. It's a reminder that progress and preservation must go hand in hand to maintain the character and history of our neighborhoods.
Let's continue this dialogue and work towards solutions that honor both our community's heritage and its future. #CommunityDialogue #HeritagePreservation #UrbanDevelopment

The Provincial Government is cracking down on illegally run Air BNB operations saying these postage-stamp suits must be made available to long-term renters. The problem is many of these short-term rentals were designed for hotel visits and are attracting little interest from renters. As a result, property owners face significant investment losses and Victoria Councillor Marg Gardiner says she’s hearing about this every day.
