@selectormax has been on a huge Bounty Killer aka @grungaadzilla kick lately and has been picking out all of Bounty’s old school LPs, singles and remixes for nice tribute tonight at Kingston BuRiAL - UNDERGROUND DANCEHALL PARTY. There’s something about that voice that goes from a deep baritone to a blood curdling screech in a split second that we can’t get enough of. Here is a video of him performing one of Max’s favorites, “Ask Fi War”, for what could quite possibly have been the first time, at Ghetto Splash ‘94 in Jamaica. The song was released as a stand alone single in ‘95 backed by the Callaloo Bed riddim on his own Price Less label and sung in one of his iconic melodies which he used for other hits such as “Scare Him” and “Fear No Evil.” Ask Fi War was later remixed by RZA for Wu-Tang Productions. The remix featured Raekwon the Chef and was released on his ‘96 album “My Experience” as “War Face.”
Fun fact: He released another song on the Callaloo Bed riddim called “Suspense”
