All I can see is Estadio Chile in the horrific aftermath of the coup. It was 50 years ago when Pinochet rounded up leftists, artists, supporters of the elected president into stadiums where they were detained, tortured and many like the beloved songwriter, Víctor Jara, were murdered. When I read about that, I could even imagine that horror, and I certainly couldn’t imagine that I would witness it happening again in real time. I was reduced to tears hearing the experiences of those who survived Estadio Chile (Estadio Víctor Jara) and the Estadio Nacional I never thought I’d see this, I want to believe it’s a nightmare, but I can see it’s real!
It was 50 years ago in Chile, it’s right now in Gaza! This has to stop!
