This 1948 classic, American Sporting Dogs was edited and designed by Eugene V. Connett, and is a 500 plus page book on American sporting dogs which includes the pointing, retrieving, flushing and hound breeds.

28 chapters authored by outstanding breed authorities of their time. They were asked "to write what he would liked to have read in his early days as the owner, trainer, or handler of a sporting dog."
