Suffering is something I’ve been thinking on, reading on, and listening on lately. It’s come up in some of my conversations throughout the week, so I thought I’d talk about it a little. There is more I could speak on when it comes to the subject of suffering, buuut I only have a 1 minute 30 seconds on this space. Here are some key takeaways + encouragement for today.

Mini message: Let’s Talk About Pre-Deciding
Pre-deciding can help us handle situations/people better. Rather than letting emotions take over, we can first go to God to seek wisdom before facing tough situations/people.

VOTD - Proverbs 3:5-6
My favorite verse! ❤️ One we can hold onto no matter what in going on around us.

I’ve been thinking a lot on leadership, platforms, celebrity culture, and social media culture. My main concern is going into a direction of being so self-focused and idolizing people that it keeps our eyes off of what Jesus wants to do with us in private. We want people to notice us. We want to have influence. That is not bad, God created us to connect and go out and make disciples. But what are you doing in private? Where is your heart when it comes to that dream/desire? Is your focus on being popular or do you truly want to be influential in a way that points people to Jesus and not you? I believe we are all made to lead in different ways. We need to be focused on our growth with Jesus and not so much platform growth. That’s definitely not a popular thing to say right now. I love you all and want to see Gods best play out in our lives. 🫶🏻
That is something I wrote in my journal back in January.
These past few years I didn’t always understand why some things were happening the way they did. I wrestled with God. There were times I was mad at him. One thing I could never do was walk away. I knew I still needed God.
When looking back I see certain things that did happen and didn’t happen for a reason.
I was thinking about how if I would have gotten my way I would have never started school at Liberty. I’m also not so sure I would have focused on areas that needed growth. Difficulties caused me to go deeper with God and to grow up in areas I was kind of oblivious to.
He opened up my eyes to greater work he wanted to do in me. Growth is painful. He has taught me so much through it all though. He has strengthened me, healed me, and there are things I would never be able to do mentally without Jesus.
Here’s to continued growth.

God created each child uniquely. Mama, he created you uniquely too! So every relationship will look different. Walk in who God created you to be and let’s encourage our children to do the same 🤎

I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU:
First of all, did you know the average person makes over 35,000 decisions consciously and subconsciously each day? According to the National Science Foundation, 80% of our thoughts are negative and 95% are repetitive thoughts.
➡️Because of that here a challenge that you can put into practice in your daily life:
1. Get a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle.
2. On the right side make a list of your most common negative thoughts, frustrations, fears, and any difficult situations you’re dealing with.
3. On the left side write down what you can do to replace those negative thoughts, what God says is true, good advice you’ve been given, Bible verses, and how you can respond and handle the difficult situations. It can be more than one thing!
After some time you won’t need to write things down, you can have the positive memorized and flip it in your mind. Did you know when practice renewing your thoughts you’re actually rewiring your brain?
We can pre-decide to trust instead of fear, trade weakness for strength in God, lashing out with a calm tone, and going to Gods truth instead of emotions being the ruler.
”So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.“ 1 Peter 1:13 NLT
”And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.“ Romans 12:2 NKJV

Do you want to hear from the Lord? Open up his word ❤️ He provided it as a way to teach us and connect with him.
If you don’t know where to start, I love to help you! The New Testament is always a great start pointing. I want to encourage you to also spend some time in prayer before reading. 💕

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” -Henry Ford
I’ve always loved this quote. It challenges us to get out of our comfort zone. Growth happens when stepping out/taking risks/trying new things. We can create habits that lead toward growth or stagnation. Change is inevitable. At times exciting and at times scary. Usually a mix of both. When stepping out remember that the Lord does not give you a spirit of fear or timidly, but of LOVE, POWER, and a SOUND MIND. I’m cheering you on friend, as you grow in who God created you to be.
