Tradescantia albiflora Nanouk
Family: Commelinaceae

This baby is a perennial, her leaves are long, thin and blade-like to lanceolate. The flowers can be white, pink, pirple or blue. A number of species have flowers that last only a day opening in the morning and closing by the evening.
Tradescantia Nanouk grows best in bright, indirect light, so a north or east-facing window.

Propagation: cutting stem. Propagating in soil work but I prefer put them in water, this allow you to monitor root growth.

Helianthus annus
Family: Asteraceae

The sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual plant with a large daisy-like flower face. Its scientific name comes from the Greek words helios (“sun”) and anthos (“flower”). The flowers come in many colors (yellow, red, orange, maroon, brown), but they are commonly bright yellow with brown centers that ripen into heavy heads filled with seeds.
Sunflowers are heliotropic, which means that they turn their flowers to follow the movement of the Sun across the sky east to west, and then returns at night to face the east, ready again for the morning sun. Heliotropism happens during the earlier stages before the flower grows heavy with seeds.

There are more than seventy different sunflower varieties available. Some varieties only grow 50cm (20in) high, while the tallest sunflowers can top out at over 3m (10ft).
Sunflower seeds indoors in pots in April and plant out in May once all risk of frost is past.

Take care:
1) Support tall sunflowers with stakes as they grow.

2) Once the flowers appear, feed sunflowers weekly with a high potassium feed (tomato feed is ideal).

3) Water regularly during dry periods, especially the tall varieties.

Propagation: seeds

Dalia

with .tools

Family: Asteraceae
Dalia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, herbaceous perennial plants native to Mexico and Central America. A member of the Compositae (also called Asteraceae) family of dicotyledonous plants, its garden relatives thus include the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. Dahlias are perennial plants with tuberous roots, though they are grown as annuals in some regions with cold winters. As a member of the Asteraceae, the dahlia has a flower head that is actually a composite with both central disc florets and surrounding ray florets. Dahlias grow naturally in climates that do not experience frost. However, their tuberous nature enables them to survive periods of dormancy.

Propagation: Dahlias can be propagated from seeds, tubers, or cuttings. Seeds will produce varieties different from the parent plants, so propagation from seeds is used primarily to develop new cultivars. Propagation using tubers is the method most commonly used. Propagation of dahlias by taking cuttings is the best method to increase stock of a favorite plant or to over-winter varieties that have tubers that are difficult to store.
