Wajir South Constituency has been severely affected by Elniรฑo flooding, leading to a dire need for emergency food supplies. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Kenya Red Cross took immediate action by arranging for a humanitarian chopper to deliver essential food items to the affected areas. However, to everyone's dismay, DG Catow decided to divert the chopper for a political popularity trip rather than allowing it to fulfill its intended purpose. Instead of transporting food, the helicopter was misused to carry Catow and his cameraman for video shooting.
The diversion of the humanitarian chopper for a political PR tour is highly inappropriate and displays a lack of empathy towards the affected population in Wajir South. The helicopter, which should have been utilized to provide much-needed relief, was instead misused to advance the political agenda of Catow. This selfish act not only undermines the credibility of the inhuman D.G but also reflects a complete disregard for the wellbeing of the flood-stricken communities.
