Beginnings. Or, better yet, steps forward.


Building a house from the ground up was something we never thought we would have the opportunity to do, for our family. After over 2yr of planning we recently broke ground and have the best team assembled to knock it out of the park. David Nisbet, landscape to name a few. More to come on the project over the next year but “here we go”.

Full circle. Learned to ski here, lived in college here and back from time to time. The scale to me is always how I saw it as a kid, larger than what I see now. Life doesn’t need “epic” experiences, just experiences. Especially for kids. Appalachian Ski Mountain has operated since the Winter of ‘62-‘63 as the first resort in NW North Carolina and second in NC. Post War resorts were already well underway in the west and New England but Southern skiing was just getting its start. Quite a run, pun intended. Happy weekend-

🚨! Ironically was by this property just a couple of weeks ago to see if maybe Winter would allow a look through the trees, but no such luck. The entry lamp post is the only clue of what lurks up the driveway.

Commissioned in 1968 and completed a few years later, this house off Leesville Rd in Raleigh hasn’t changed hands since 1975. It hit the open market this morning out of nowhere, but is marketed as a development opportunity mostly. Please contact us if you think you may know someone saving it.

This was later in HHH’s storied career but retains so many signature design elements. A truly rare and remarkable opportunity.
