What Are You Putting Off Due to Fear? End the Year Strong and Step Boldly Into the New Year

As December unfolds, we’re reminded it’s a season of completion—a time to reflect, wrap up unfinished business, and prepare for a fresh start. But how often do we let fear keep us from finishing what we’ve started or stepping into something new?

Fear is normal, but it doesn’t have to control you. Moving forward, even while afraid, is one of the most courageous things you can do. Here’s why it matters and how you can use this moment to set yourself up for a great start to the new year.

Why You Should Do It Afraid
1. Fear Doesn’t Mean Failure
Stepping into the unknown is scary, but fear doesn’t predict your success or failure. Many great achievements started with uncertainty. Acting in the face of fear shows you that it’s not as powerful as it seems.
2. Growth Lives on the Other Side of Fear
Fear is often a sign that you’re on the brink of growth. Each step you take outside your comfort zone builds resilience and confidence, turning what once scared you into second nature.
3. Regret is More Painful Than Fear
Think about past opportunities you’ve missed because of hesitation. Acting now helps you avoid that sting of regret later. It’s better to try and learn than to never try at all.

In today’s world, it’s easy to feel like life is a race, constantly measuring yourself against others. But what if we shifted our perspective? Like a flower, we bloom at our own pace—some days radiant, other days fragile—but always nurtured by the grace and mercy God renews each morning.
