Hope you folks are well.

I’m making the choice to take a bit more time away from social media…Life happened and my mental health and well-being are paramount., so I’m doing for myself what I educate you to do - take care of your mental health.

I ought to be back mid-November.

Happy Friday all.

Change - humans generally abhor it.
We like things predictable.

However, life changes every day in some form or another.

When we were babies, we didn’t just get up and
walk, we had to take many tiny steps so we could strengthen our feet, legs and learn how to balance.

So, when making a big change, the best way to ensure it works, is by taking tiny steps every day.

Life does not need to be about the newest thing, or fanciest gadget, or most expensive stuff.

Clothes keep us warm
A phone keeps us connected
A vintage chair keeps us off the floor
A simple home keeps us safe.

I’ve gone through times when all my “stuff” was in storage, or when it was in my home, or when I bought new, and when I’ve had to sell it.

I look at the stuff I’ve owned and had attachment
to it, “But, I worked so hard to get it, and now I have to let it go!!!” I completely understand this feeling; it’s painful and sad.

I am more grateful for the few friends I have, how have helped me through life’s difficulties and journey, as they provide me with what I need - love, compassion, kindness and support.

Welcome

Hi! I'm Taylore Einarsson and the founder of Mental Health Educator. A little about me...... Growing up with a parent who had a mental illness, I bore witness to their decline from strength of mind and body, to anxiety, then mania and finally into a deep depression. It was utterly devastating when I had to admit them into a mental health facility. This was my first foray into the mental health system, where I witnessed first hand what can happen when a person has ECT (electro convulsive therapy), as well as psychiatric medications and the psychiatric system itself. I have endured numerous challenges in my life. As a survivor of childhood trauma due to sexual abuse, my genetic pre-disposition to mental illness, my first of 6 su***de attempts was at the age of 13 - my last was in 2004. In 2004, I was properly diagnosed with Manic Depression/Rapid Cycling 2 (I prefer the term Manic Depression instead of Bi Polar). I have also had Stage 2 breast cancer and have Reactive Rheumatoid Arthritis. Lastly, I have known 6 men who have died by su***de - co workers, relatives, friends and my own parent.

With all of this lived experience, I made the choice to use my knowledge and experience to create Mental Health Educator. Combining my background, degree in Mental Health and Addictions/Su***de Prevention, and training, I educate people on how to learn to develop their abilities, create resilience and live a good life, while having a mental illness. As a Peer Navigator with a national non-profit, I taught my clients to learn how to navigate systems such as: Income, Housing, Health Care, Legal and Social Connections and how to advocate for themselves. Being a person with lived experience in a peer position, I was able to help empower people in their recovery of mental illness and/or addiction. My Motto - Mental Health, like physical health, must be built into todays' world by empowering people to learn how to become resilient, embrace their mental health and wellness through education, inspiration and motivation.
