Scone Palace is proud to announce, in partnership with British Eventing, that it will host a new CCI4*-L horse trials event from August 2025 – the Scone Palace International Horse Trials.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that the 35th annual Blair Castle International Horse Trials, being held later this week, would be the final such event at the venue. Since that decision was announced, Scone Palace has engaged with the sport to bring a new major event to Perthshire.

The first Scone Palace International Horse Trials will be held next August in the historic and picturesque Parklands of Scone Palace and the adjacent Perth Racecourse, offering a unique and enhanced setting for this new world-class event. The establishment of this equestrian competition at this iconic location reinforces Perthshire's status as a premier destination for international sporting events and ensures the continuation of top-tier eventing in the region.

Today was a very emotional day celebrating the life of gorgeous Georgie Campbell. I haven’t said anything on here since Georgie’s sad passing because I simply don’t have the words to do it justice. I didn’t know her well but you didn’t need to to feel the effect her smile and positivity had on people. Everyone has seen the impact her loss has had on the eventing community and it just seems unbelievably cruel that her time was cut so devastatingly short.

Listening to all the speakers today was incredibly difficult at times but also inspirational. In particular, for Jesse to stand up and say what he said in the way that he said it was remarkable and a true credit to Georgie, him and their relationship. Everyone could see they were a fantastic team and hearing Jesse’s appreciation for the love they enjoyed and his strength to go on without her is an inspiration to us all. “Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”.

I haven’t enjoyed 2024 one little bit having to say goodbye to Caroline and then Georgie, two beautiful ladies in their 30s gone much much much too soon. There’s been plenty of other crap to add to the pile as well but it all gets put into pretty sharp perspective on a day like today. I only hope the next six months can bring the eventing community more joy and certainly less heartbreak.

Jesse said in his post “please just smile at each other, don’t feel awkward about laughing, and above all, try and love everything and everyone.”

I don’t think anyone could say anything better but the last weeks and months have really emphasised to me the importance of loving what you have. Too often we spend all our energy chasing things: dreams, medals, money, whatever. So, however tough life may seem, take a moment to look around and appreciate everything you have. And then get back to chasing those dreams again!

Happy Olympics day💙 Started my career at the BBC working on Tokyo, a bit scary we’re already 3 years on and this time it’s Paris.🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 Although we’re from Salford and not in France eating Pain au chocolats, looking forward to working my third Olympics. Cmon GB
