Following Jesus doesn’t eliminate the grey times in life. God will give His Grace in the Grey.
Psalm62:5-7 God is my defender. When we face personal attacks it's often a battle against the flesh to respond in a biblical manner.Let God be your defender. Don't get caught up in the weeds of defense and retaliation, you might miss what God has for you. People's words and actions only have the power we give them. They do not have the power to remove God's call on your life or to keep you from fulfilling the work God has laid before you.

God woke me up this morning with part of a verse running through my head... so I grabbed a cup of coffee, headed to my back deck and spent time digging a little deeper in His word. Here is what God gave me.
We often don’t know why God takes away. Sometimes it feels like we are being punished or benched when all we did was be obedient to Him. I promise He isn’t punishing you. What often feels like He is taking, is actually Him protecting. We can’t see other’s hearts or the dangers that lie ahead. But God can! He may just be removing you or “taking” from you to protect you. My friend Natalie over at puts it like this… “What felt like exile was actually an exodus. You weren’t rejected. You were rescued.” Whatever season of difficulty you find yourself in, give God the credit He deserves. I promise He has your best interests at heart. It may not look how we want it to but He will work it all out; in His time.

The first pic is some random saying that isn’t based in scripture at all. It’s one that drives me nuts! No where in the Bible does it say this. But what it does say is that God will always be with you. He will give you the rest you need in tough times. He promises to be gentle with us. I’ll be back Wednesday. I can’t wait to share how incredible our time away has been and what God has shown me. Praying for all of you, friends. 🤍
God is good all the time… all the time God is good. If you grew up going to church I’m sure you’ve herd this. But it’s true. Focusing on the goodness of God is a choice, and a powerful one at that. What are you grateful for today?
Even when you’re doing the right thing and following Jesus there will still be naysayers. The enemy is sneaky and will try to get into your thoughts any way possible. The only opinion that matters is God’s. Who He says you are is what’s important. (Thank you to the friend who sent this to me the other day as encouragement)
Vanessa Horabuena is an incredibly gifted artist... me not so much. I've also never really been "into" art. An ad for her work came across my news feed a few months ago and I haven't been able to look away since. This particular piece is called "Art of Surrender" Never before have I connected with a piece of art like I have this. In the grey times of my life, l've often found it difficult to keep my compass pointed towards the true north, Jesus. Surrendering to the Lord is actually an act of worship, it is art, it takes skill and practice. Sometimes we surrender and need to resurrender every hour and that's ok! But, it is in the surrender to God that the grace pours out.
When the grace pours out you will start to see little breaks in the rain, little rays of sunshine trying to break through the clouds. The act of surrendering, the grace given there will give you the strength the carry on.
(It should also be noted that I'm still saving my pennies so I can purchase this 🤍)

Worship allows us to lay down the hurt and brokenness at the foot of the cross and pick up the healing and wholeness Jesus desires for us all. Worship allows us to focus back on Jesus so that when difficulty and hurt and pain come crashing in, we are responding in a Christ like manner not out of the hurt. On a side note, It is so important that we surround ourselves with people who point us back to Jesus. I’m especially grateful for the friend who challenged me in a conversation last night and inspired this word… you know who you are. 🤍
I read something today written by @lysaterkeurst and I dug a little deeper. It’s so easy to let our emotions and need for understanding to rule over us. But there are many things in life that just won’t make sense. We can choose to turn to Jesus and ask Him to calm the storm within us and help us heal and move forward. 1 Peter 5:7 Romans 8:28

Let’s talk about grace today. It’s an immeasurable gift from God that He gives freely. When we receive His grace we are called to live transformed lives. Part of that is showing the same grace to those around us. Take some time today to reflect on this gift and ask God to help you embrace it fully, allowing it to show your thoughts, words and actions. Be blessed 🤍

Proverbs 3:5-6. Wouldn’t it be amazing if God gave us His full game plan? If He told us exactly why He was asking us to do something? If He told us how it was all going to turn out? I’d love it if He did that. But that most often isn’t how He does things. He gives us just enough information to take the next step and asks us to trust Him with the following steps. This creates a need for us to tune into His voice, thus drawing us into deeper relationship with Him. That is always the end goal… deeper relationship with Jesus. Have a blessed Monday. 🤍
That day on the cross EVERY sin was forgiven. EVERY chain broken. We are called to walk in the freedom of that. What is it that’s stopping you from walking in that freedom. What is it that’s blocking Jesus from truly being the center of your life? You don’t have to struggle. Whatever it is give it to Him. 🤍
While visiting our son and his beautiful girlfriend, a little over a week ago, a made some observations. God is always at work. Even when we don’t see it. Enjoy the waiting because what He is preparing you for is good. I promise. 🤍
Jesus is all we need to face whatever He has laid before us. We don’t need the sympathy or understanding of others. We don’t need confidence from them. We can get that all from Jesus. He walked this earth, He lived this life, He knows suffering.
Ask God to help you reframe your thoughts are regarding your life and your current situation and challenges. See what happens.

Set your mind on things above… that task is impossible on our own. That why God gives us the best helper… the Holy Spirit. 🤍

God created us to need connection with Him, ourselves and others. Often times, when difficulty comes one or more of these areas gets out of balance.
God works ALL things for good. 🤍 It’s in the dark cloudy times of life where growth happens.
