Who is the Real Barbarian?' - Reno Omokri Sparks Debate
In a recent post, Reno Omokri raised a thought-provoking question: who truly embodies the term 'barbarian'? He highlighted a stark contrast in the approach to justice between certain Southerners and Northerners in Nigeria.
Omokri shared his firsthand experience of living in the North, where he noted a difference in punishment for crimes. According to him, if caught stealing, the prescribed punishment in al-Quran is the amputation of hands, not burning individuals alive. In contrast, he recounted a horrifying incident in Onitsha, where two brothers, Chinedu and Omama, were accused of theft. The locals brutally beat them, doused them in petrol, and set them on fire. Onlookers watched, disturbingly, as the tragedy unfolded.
This incident raises profound questions about justice, humanity, and the true meaning of civilization. Omokri's post has sparked a nationwide debate, forcing us to confront uncomfortable truths about our society.

Health : Have you been throwing away yam peels? Don't anymore.
1. Soak them in cold water overnight and thereafter.
2. ADD onion, 2 teaspoons of salt, a pinch of sugar, 1 liter of kerosene (depending on the quantity of yam peels you have), and lemon juice.
3. Then leave the mixture under the hot sun for 6 hours for the water to evaporate. Make sure it dries well to the point where you can grind it without much stress.
4. Wrap the peels in a black polythene bag and wait for 10 minutes before carefully throwing them in a dustbin, because I don't know what you are trying to prepare.

Apologise to Tinubu and Nigerians - Festus Keyamo knocks Atiku after Chicago State University released President's academic records.
Keyamo's tweets come after CSU released the academic records of Tinubu following an order from a Chicago court.
In the record released, CSU confirmed it found three diplomas matching the certificate Tinubu presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INC, after a diligent search.
The release of the documents by CSU confirms that Tinubu graduated from CSU in 1979 although observers say the released documents raised other questions.
One of the questions raised is Tinubu's gender, which was listed as female "F".
Others pointed out that the certificate Tinubu presented to
INEC is different from what was released by CSU and they argued that this is tantamount to "forgery".
In the document Tinubu presented to INEC, it was stated that he graduated "with honors" (This means graduating with one of the best grades in the whole faculty and school in general). However, the document presented by CSU doesn't reflect this.
Recall that a United States District Court in Northern Illinois had on Saturday, Sept. 30, ordered the Chicago State University (CSU) to release the academic records of Tinubu to Atiku.
The development came after a U.S Judge, Nancy Maldonado, adopted all the ruling of Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of the U.S. District Court.
Tinubu had objected to the Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert ruling ordering the immediate release of the academic records by the CSU.
Justice Nancy Maldonado in a judgment dismissed the objection raised by Tinubu against Atiku's request and expressly ordered that the CSU must submit the academic records to Atiku.

Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of Tupac Shakur.
Las Vegas police has arrested a man on suspicion of murder in the 1996 shooting of hip-hop star Tupac Shakur.
Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested early Friday morning, Sept. 29, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear.
An indictment was expected later on Friday, AP reports.
Shakur was wounded in a drive-by shooting near the Las Vegas Strip on Sept. 7, 1996. He died in a hospital six days later (Sept. 13) at the age of 25.
Davis has admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, "Compton Street Legend," that he was in the Cadillac from which the gunfire erupted during the shooting, the AP said.
In July this year, Las Vegas police served a search warrant at the Henderson, Nevada, home of Davis' wife, Pamela Clemons, as part of Shakur's homicide investigation.
Cops confiscated several computers, laptops and iPads from the home, as well as a .40-caliber cartridge - the same type as the many casings that were recovered from the scene where Shakur was shot, according to a search warrant obtained by The Post.
Greg Kading, a retired LAPD detective who had investigated Tupac's death, told The Post Friday: "Davis provided the gun and he actively sought out Tupac with his nephew.
"Davis gave the gun to his nephew, who was in the car with them, and collectively, they went out and intended to shoot Tupac. He provided the gun, and his nephew did the shooting, so they are all equally guilty under solicitation for murder."
Kading added, "I am super excited because this is huge!
We knew this wasn't an unsolved case, and now it looks like they have taken it to a point where they can officially close it.
For the rest of history, Tupac's murder will not be considered an unsolved crime

Las Vegas.

Subsidy reportedly back as FG pays N169.4 billion in August
The federal government reportedly paid N169.4 billion as subsidy in August to keep the pump price at N620 per litre,
DailyTrust reports.
According to the report, there have been several reports suggesting that the current price stagnation despite the worsening exchange rate and international crude price crossing $95 a barrel suggests a return of subsidy.
A document by the Federal Account Allocation Committee
(FAAC), sighted by DailyTrust on Wednesday, September 20, showed that in August 2023, the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) paid $275m as dividends to Nigeria via NNPC Limited.
NNPC Limited used $220m (N169.4 billion at N770/$) out of the $275m to pay for the PMS subsidy. Then NNPC held back $55m, illegally.
The revelation by FAAC effectively indicates that the subsidy is back and NNPC is now taking NLNG dividends to pay the subsidy, the report added.
