looking back, I remember a time when I was in a relationship with someone and opened his text to see, ‘Are you losing weight?’
I realized that I only felt insecure about being petite when dating Black men.
There seemed to be this expectation of being ‘thicker,’ and it made me question my natural body.
I used to try to force my natural petite body to gain weight so I could feel like I fit in with Black communities.
But over time, I’ve learned that I deserve to be with people who appreciate me for who I am, not who they think I should be.
Petite bodies matter! Lets stop body shaming slim people!
In other races, though, being slim is often seen as more attractive. So i just begun dating where my natural body is truly appreciated 😏
