Trampoline fireworks

#14. Saturday, April 23

i'm learning that it's not about getting what you want in life. because often times, what we think we want isn't actually what's best for us. instead, it's about wanting what you get - being grateful for the good things that come your way, and making the best of the situation (even if it's not perfect). today, i was feeling really down because something i'd been hoping for didn't work out. but then i realized that there are so many other great things in my life that i should be thankful for. and from now on, i'm going to focus on those things instead.

what are you grateful for in your life?

Progressions of Happiness

#13. Friday, April 22

i read somewhere that it's important to learn to be happy with what you have while working for what you want. and i'm starting to really believe it. because when you're always chasing after something, you never take the time to appreciate what you already have. today, i made a point of slowing down and appreciating all the good things in my life. and guess what? it made me feel so much happier!

what are some things you're grateful for in your life?

Eavesdropping

#12. Thursday, April 21

i used to think that i needed things like money, success, or approval from others to be happy. but i was wrong. the only thing you really need to be happy is yourself. today, i tried something new and scary - and it went really well! and even though no one else was there to witness it or give me validation, i still felt so proud and accomplished. because in the end, happiness comes from within.

what are some things you used to think you needed in order to be happy?

Silly smiles

#11. Wednesday, April 20

I read somewhere that happiness doesn't come from what you have, it comes from what you give. And I really believe that. Today, I tried to make someone's day by doing something nice for them - and it made me feel so good! It's the little things in life that count, and it's so worth it to spread some happiness around.

what's something nice that you did for someone today?

Imperfectly perfect

#10. Tuesday, April 19

i used to think that happiness was something you could find at the end of the road. but now i realize that it's not about destination - it's about the journey. and as long as you're moving forward and enjoying the ride, you're bound to be happy eventually. so today, i'm just going to focus on enjoying myself and taking things one day at a time. who knows where this journey will lead me?

Inside giggles

#9. Monday, April 18

today, i took some time to really think about what makes me happy. and you know what? it's not material things or superficial things. it's the simple things in life that bring me joy - spending time with loved ones, being outdoors, doing something creative. when i can focus on these things (and let go of the negativity), i feel so much happier.

what are some of the simple things that make you happy?

Nature's mercy

#8. Sunday, April 17

i was really unhappy today. everything just felt off, and i couldn't figure out why. but then i remembered what someone once told me - "the greatest happiness is to know the source of your own unhappiness." so i sat down and thought about it, and eventually realized that the reason i was feeling this way was because I'd been comparing myself to others too much lately. once i identified the problem, it was easier to find a solution. from now on, i'm going to focus on my own journey instead of trying to keep up with everyone else's.

have you ever identified the source of your own unhappiness? if so, what was it?

Finally free again

#7. Saturday, April 16

it's not easy staying true to yourself when there's so much pressure to conform. but it's so important to stay strong and individual. today, i felt like i was really being tested.but in the end, i stuck to my gut and did what i thought was best (even though it wasn't popular).and even though it was tough, it feels good knowing that i didn't let anyone else control me or define who i am.

have you ever had to go against the grain? how did it turn out?

Hard work still wins

#6. Friday, April 15

something that you've put your heart and soul into will always be worth more than something that was just thrown together quickly (no matter how much money you spend on it). today, i finished a project that i'd been working on for weeks, and it felt so good to finally see it completed. even though it wasn't perfect, i was really proud of it. and people could tell - they kept telling me how impressed they were with my work. in the end, real quality speaks for itself.

do you think that the process of creating something is more important than the finished product?

Leap of faith

#5. Thursday, April 14

all the best things in life take time, effort, and lots of hard work. but it's so worth it when you finally see the fruits of your labor. today, i was feeling really discouraged because my project wasn't coming along as quickly as i wanted it to. but then i remembered what someone once told me - "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." so i just took one small step forward, and kept going until I got where I wanted to be.

what's a project you're currently working on that you're really passionate about?

Piggy back comfort

#4. Wednesday, April 13

i was having one of those days where everything i said just felt wrong. like no matter what words came out of my mouth, they weren't good enough. so i stopped talking altogether. and instead, I listened. really listened to the people around me. and you know what? sometimes, it's better to just be quiet and hear what others have to say (instead of always trying to say something yourself).

in what situations do you find it best to just listen?

Here to learn

#3. Tuesday, April 12

i read somewhere that one of the secrets to staying young is to always do things you don't know how to do. and i've been trying to live by that lately. pushing myself out of my comfort zone, and taking on new challenges. it's not always easy, but it's definitely rewarding. today, i tried something completely new - rock climbing! and even though i was scared at first, i had so much fun (and felt really accomplished afterwards). can't wait to see what else i can conquer!

Patiently waiting

#2. Monday, April 11

today was one of those days where everything felt like a struggle. i woke up feeling tired and my to-do list just seemed endless. but I told myself that I could get through it, and that well done is better than well said. so I put my head down and got to work. and sure enough, by the end of the day, i had crossed off everything on my list (and then some). it wasn't easy, but it feels good to have accomplished so much today.

does anyone still use hand-written to-do lists or am i just really old school?

Mindpool

#1. Sunday, April 10

note to self - take a break sometimes. a break from trying to do things faster, and feel things slower. a break from chasing after every second in hopes of "optimizing" or being more "efficient". it's not about earning with your time, its about earning with your mind - making sure you are at a balance in this never ending tightrope we call life. so today, i'm taking a break. enjoying the nice weather, clean air, and those very rare but appreciated moments of just, being, me.

what are the best methods you've used to disconnect?
