Great advice for staying sane through the time change!

Great advice for staying sane through the time change!

Are you fretting about this weekends clock change, or forgotten all about it!?

Here are my top tips with how to approach it over 3 days...

This Sunday, the clocks will fall back 🍂

My recommendation is leave your clock as it is, it will be far less physiologically upsetting to see the time being an hour earlier than normal, and once you’ve made a ☕️ it will feel much better!

If your little one normally wakes at 7am and is now waking at 6am, try leaving them sleep til 6.10am for a day, 6.20am the next and 6.30am on day 3.

If morning nap is usually 9.30am, make it 9am (this will feel like 10am to your child) and it may need some major distractions to keep them awake.

Make sure you use the same approach for afternoon naps too.

If bedtime is usually 7pm, make it 6.30pm (this will feel like 7.30pm to your child).

Repeat for 3 days 🗓

On day 4, go back to your normal timings, their body clocks should now have had enough time to adjust and be back on schedule.

So important! Traveling while pumping or nursing can be awful without a proper space..

During National Breastfeeding Month, we recognize that all moms deserve access to clean, safe breastfeeding spaces. Two years ago, Congress took the first step in making air travel easier for new parents by passing my bipartisan FAM Act, which provides nursing mothers with private, clean and accessible lactation rooms at medium and large airports. This year, I’m proud to have led the charge with Senator Fischer to pass legislation out of the Senate that builds on that progress by extending the law to small airports as well.

Breastfeeding plays a critical role in children’s development & helps reduce the risk of diseases for children and mothers alike. For families across the nation, it’s past time we fully support breastfeeding moms.

From 📸

🎉🎉It’s the first day of Black Breastfeeding Week and also Andrea’s birthday!!❤️❤️ Happy birthday, Andrea!

“In honour of black breastfeeding week, I wanted to share my own personal breastfeeding journey, along with this photo that was taken when my son Elyas was 3 months old.
The photographer took one shot only, and this is it.
With my first son, Alden, although I was so thrilled and thankful I was able to breastfeed, I was so ashamed at how my “new” postpartum body looked. We had our photographer offer many times to take a breastfeeding photo of us, and I always declined. The only photo I have, is one my husband took. Breastfeeding is so hard. It’s so uncomfortable for a long time.
With my second child, I wanted to celebrate—my body, it’s ability to carry and nourish two beautiful children, my ability to breastfeed, and fight through Mastitis, plugged ducts, leaking breasts, sleepless nights, bleeding ni***es, nursing strikes, the list goes on and on. I’m so in love with this body. Every bump and every curve. I feel more beautiful, and more comfortable in my skin than I ever did at a Size 3. I’m so proud of have this snapshot of such a brave and beautiful time in my life. Breastfeeding isn’t easy, but what you get from it, is far more than what you give. To nourish two beautiful children with my own body and give them life, is beyond comprehension.
Parenting is such a powerful privilege. I wish that more women would have the right support systems from pre-natal to fight through those early hard days, to have the amazing experience that breastfeeding has been for me.”
