Doomsong is a Roleplay Macabre set in a world on the cusp of a Biblical apocalypse. The dead are being turned away at the gates of Heall, giving them no choice but to return to the world above. You must subdue them, regardless of how they feel about the arrangement. Inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, medieval folkhorror, and European mythologies, these two beautiful hardback books are filled with artwork by the incomparable Moritz Krebs ().

Welcome to the Northlands! Whether you are new to the setting, or a veteran of the snow-covered North, you are in for a treat. Presented here are three books to get your Northlands Saga game going. Make characters suited to the setting of the Northlands with the Northlands Saga Player’s Guide and then set out on an adventure with Spring Rites and Spears in the Ice, both setting up the epic tale of the Saga of the Lord of Ice and Cold, the first Northlands Saga adventure path.
The Northlands is a fantasy setting inspired by the history, folklore, and myths of the Norse people, heavily influenced by the sagas of the Icelanders and others, and mixed with a little leavening from heroic fantasy. You play young heroes starting out in Spring Rites ordered to guard your jarl’s daughters while they gather flowers for the upcoming feast of Freya. Matters take a dark turn, and our heroes must rescue their charges from the aglæcwif Sibbe the Unkempt. In Spears in the Ice, our heroes accompany their jarl on a voyage of trading and hunting but are abandoned on a floating city of ice by a sudden storm summoned by malevolent magic.

Go Fund This 2.0
Get a project funded can be difficult. In fact, lack of funding, no matter how small the amount needed, can be the thing that stops a project dead in its tracks. We live in an amazing time when crowdfunding can make dreams a reality. Kickstarter, IndieGogo, Patreon, and BuyMeCoffee are just a few of the funding opportunities that now exist to help bring money in from people that have a genuine interest in making these ideas happen. If you dig a project, you can now directly affect the outcome of that project by paying into their crowdfunding efforts. And not only can you help make a project happen, you can typically get some pretty cool and exclusive perks.
This podcast was started back in 2013 with the purpose of drawing attention to Kickstarter’s for gaming companies. Over time, this evolved into other types of projects and featured other crowdfunding platforms. That brings us to today, and why Go Fund This is back with a new host after over a year hiatus. Back in March of this year, a pandemic hit that forced many to stay home and not go out in public. For people in gaming, comics, theater, music, podcasting, or that make their living launching projects, this meant they had limited access to connecting with the public. Many conventions and live events such as concerts or book signings were canceled. Even the normal daily interaction of standing in line for coffee and telling the person behind you about your awesome project was not available.
How do you make the money you need to keep going if you can’t interact?
There are a number of answers, which I’m sure you’re thinking about right now, but there is no single solution. It’s a mix of things that as creators we suddenly all have to get really good at.
That’s where I come in. I’m Rob Southgate, co-founder of Southgate Media Group, the podcast network you’re listening to right now. You might have heard me before as I was a guest on Go Fund This with a Kickstarter I was running. Our company is known for podcasting but we also run live events, publish books, have started micro-cons, and create a ton of other types of cool content. When the pandemic hit, we got really concerned about our friends from the various artist alleys that we know from the different cons we perform at. We have friends that are desperately trying to keep their amazing theater’s afloat during this, and musicians that can’t make a living this summer because they can’t tour. I started a show called Alley Chats that I post about three times a week to bring exposure to these amazingly talented people. It was during this project that I found a number of them had Kickstarters they needed to promote or had Patreon’s that they were making amazing content for and needed to spread the word.
I asked Matt if I could host this podcast to draw awareness to all this cool stuff and to help connect supporters with creators. Of course, he said yes and here we are.
