The trailer we have worked on for i inspiring collaboration between ourselves, @jeff_synthesized and @photek - full short will drop 1-1-25
Today we are bending time, recording a Newtons cradle for something we are workong on with @jeff_synthesized and @photek
Working with Rockfish on their highly anticipated Everspace 2 DLC: Titans, our task was, not only to create the audio suites for the cinematic cutscenes, but also to work with the Rockfish audio team on the character sound design for one of the main antagonists of the DLC: the Dreadnaught Minokawa.
This ancient ship is a relic of vast power and renown in the universe of Everspace which has been repurposed as a weapon of the Outlaws. Needless to say we wanted to create a sonic identity fitting its fabled place in Everspace 2’s lore.
Early on in the process we imagined a desolate, haunting sound akin to a cosmic foghorn for the ship as it looms out of the stellar mist.
To get where we set out to go, we employed a wide variety of PVC pipes as well as metal tubes to create multiple timbres and tones which then underwent some rather heavy modulation, and to be honest at some points some out right random processing, to finally result in what we felt was Minokawa´s true voice.
Here is a showcase of ours featuring some of our favourite bits.
Over the years we have been fortunate to be working closely with the cinematics team at CCP Games, writing music and crafting sound design for more EVE Online teasers and trailers we can count.
One of the most pivotal points of a trailer is the endboard; and to us, one of the most challenging yet rewarding parts of the project. This is where it all comes to a head. 💥
Here is an edit to showcase a few of our favourite ones:
To further tease what we are working on together with Ben Procter - here is the full main theme from the OST for the forthcoming project Lux Divinum: ”Scienta est Lux”.
Big drums session for Cinematic trailer; EVE Online - Reign 🥁
Last year we worked on an awesome twin-stick roguelike shooter with David Marquardt and Rogue Games - Dust & Neon.
The vast armoury of guns that David created for the game inspired us immensely and immediately we reached out to our usual collaborators at the local gun club as we always do when a project require us to add to our existing library of sounds and record additional content.
We spent considerable time with the gun people recording mechanical actions and dry-firing in our studio as well as live round shots.
All recordings where brought back into the box for some serious augmentations using different basic wave-forms and other electronic sounds merged together with our recordings to finally end up with sounds we all felt reflecting the visual profiles of the guns in-game.
Overall we wanted to keep the guns sonic profile grounded in the world of real firearms, yet conceptualised enough to give each its own distinct character.
Here is a short in-game sequence showcasing our sound design. Full behind the scenes of our recording sessions coming soon!
When working on the OST for @ben.procter.design highly anticipated project Lux Divinum - we spent considerable time recording various live orchestra members from Norrköping Symphonic Orchestra .
Here we had the great pleasure to track cello for the main theme with super talented Florian Erpelding, originally from The Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Lyon.
MWA x MHAD - The joining of forces continues! ⚔️💥
Happy friday people! Here is a little peek into our creative process - a sound design only version of a recent project for which we created the entire audio suite (music, sound design, voice over and post production).
This project announces the new game engine for Eve Online: Carbon. We like to take the opportunity to show the layers of our work and how each part adds depth and impact individually.
