I admit we were all anxious about moving out of the country that is our home after 30 odd years.

Having said that, Dubai does seem easy on the eyes. 😅

The mystical village of Malana

It grows the finest w**d in India. Malana attracts tourists from worldwide - for ‘Malana cream’, a strain of Cannabis hashish. But little did we know that the Malana cream is also the most expensive hashish on the Amsterdam menu?

A civilization like this is definitely a rare sighting considering how far we have come from the troubles of inequality. You might think you have all the freedom in the world. But the moment you put your foot in this village, you are automatically an untouchable.

The villagers look down upon the rest of the world as believe they are a much superior race.It is said that they are the descendants of Alexander, the Great. This means that you don't have the permission to touch them, their village or their belongings. If you are still caught, be ready to pay some hefty fines.

There is still so much to learn about this place - go and find out!!

This quaint little cafe stands on the slopes of the mountains of Kalga. The design and interiors are all dreamy and unbelievable. I mean how often you land in a cafe with views this surreal. The cafe is named as The Soul Kitchen - very well thought so, I can tell. The views, the food the ambiance all find a way to speak to your soul.

We lost all track of time just peeping out of these large windows, feeling the cool breeze and sipping on hot cups of chai. As hard as it was to step foot out of this abode, the regret to not have the time to live there was even greater. Sigh.

Fontainhas was founded in the late 18th century by a wealthy Portuguese named Antonio Joao de Sequeira. He used this land for coconut plantations. But, in the early 1800s, due to the spread of epidemic in the Old Goa, the Portuguese government headquarters was shifted to Panjim. As a result, this area was transformed into the residential area for Portuguese administrative officers and rulers. In 1984, UNESCO recognized Fontainhas as a Heritage Zone.

A common visual reminder of Portuguese remnants here are the houses and cottages built in colonial architecture and painted in fluorescents and pastels. In addition to that, the names of the narrow cobbled streets can also be traced back to the Portuguese time in Goa, for instance, Rua 31 de Janeira (31st January Road) is named after the day when Portugal got independence from Spain on January 31, 1640; and 18th June Street is named after the day in 1946 that marked the beginning of the end of Portuguese rule in the country.

Reis Magos Fort 🏰

This hidden getaway is located right in the heart of Panjim and provides stunning views of the beautiful Mandovi river.

If you look at the second pic closely, the two ships that you see are the super famous floating casinos of Goa - The Deltin Royale and the Casino Pride.

Coorg has ample of these, jaw dropping beautiful resorts and we landed at the prettiest one ❤️

Time just flew while we were here. We could go cycling, we could get a spa, we could sing karaoke, we could eat the best seafood (crab curry here was to die for), we could stroll around the garden watching the impossible types of flowers, we could go kayaking or we could just cozy up in our treehouse looking at the stunning backwaters of Kaveri.

This resort had our hearts then, and will definitely be there forever. 💜💜

If you have been around Buddhist culture, you would have seen a lot of these - stones stacked over one another.
This was my very own on the Bhutan trip. Although I did not know what it symbolised then, I do know now.

As a whole it's just a reflection of life with every stone symbolizing a wish and the whole act of learning to balance it just like all the irregular stones on one another.

It could be family, love, money, travel or just some good luck. I have seen stacks of as high as 13 stones. Yes there can be no ends to our wishes but we can just make sure we balance them all perfectly. Afterall, life is too short to get dragged into a single wish.

I distinctly remember a conversation I had with the reception help at the hostel I stayed in Prague.

While leaving out in the evening I asked him, by what time is it safe out here? As amused as he was at my question, he said "Ma'am you are in Prague. It's always safe."

I just left the lobby wondering how much being a female solo traveller weighs on your mind. Having said that, I have no regrets I asked him that. Afterall it's better being safe than sorry. 😀
